So, I dug out my old copy of Animal House last night. Unlike Casino Royale (1967), Animal House is a movie which stands up over time. Even after almost 3 decades this movie is still hysterical. Watching this movie again is like going to visit old friends, Flounder, Pinto, Otter, Boon, D-Day, even Neidermeyer, and you can’t Bluto. I hate to say it reminds me of my frat house days but in some ways it does.

Animal House had it all, a great cast, a hilarious script, memorable lines, great boobs, and an awesome sound track. That’s usually not my kind of music but I definitely love the songs from this film. This is the movie that will always be my favorite John Belushi film. He was without a doubt one of the greatest comedic actors of all time. I’m dying to back and see if some of his other films held up as well. The Blues Brother was of course great, but I haven’t seen 1941 in years. You may see some posts for these coming soon. Of course Animal House is still without a doubt one of the most quotable movies for guys everywhere.

Remember:

-“Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Germans?
Forget it he’s on a roll.”

-“Do you mind if we dance with your dates?”

-“We have an old saying in Delta House, don’t get mad, get even.”

-“Mr. Blutarsky, zero point zero.”

And my personal favorite:

-“You f****d up! You trusted us!”

And, let’s not forget that Animal House was where we all learned the term Double-Secret Probation.

If you’re an Old School kind of guy, you’ll love Animal House too. This is definitely a sit around on a Saturday night with you’re dumb buddies drinking beer kind of movie. In fact, I would say if you haven’t seen this movie you don’t deserve to have the term guy applied to you. Ever male on the face of the planet needs to watch this film at least a dozen times. John Belushi R.I.P. brother.

Summary: Classic film, still very funny, some nice boob shots. Sit, drink beer, watch it.

If you liked this one: Blues Brothers. 1941, Old School
