American Idol Thurs. Eviction Prediction

Watching the show this week I saw that the guys definitely improved their act over the previous week, but they were still flat overall. I just don’t see there being any chance that a male contestant takes home the trophy this year. The women on the other hand showed a lot of depth and ability.

Male Evictees
Brandon Rogers: His performance was boring. He picked a dull song and delivered it accordingly. Brandon seems to be strongly relying on his charismatic smile to carry him through this week.
Sanjay Malakar: He’s just too young for this. Youth alone isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of years to gain the experience. And the outfit on Tuesday?? Ugh. I think he has potential but should wait and try again in 2-3 years.

Female Evictees
Jordin Sparks: I just wasn’t impressed and don’t think America will prove to have been either. The competition is stacked very high on the ladies’ side, other years she might have lasted longer, but not this time.
Haley Scarnato: Every year someone attempts to take on a Whitney Houston song and every year it doesn’t work out. I couldn’t believe the judges didn’t rail her more on her selection, other than Simon implying she choose it for the backup singers to take the lead. However, what makes me teeter on this selection is that Haley Scarnato started crying after her rough review by the judges. Sympathy votes? Maybe. And geez, even her fiance didn’t look impressed or happy in the least.

So there it is, my Thursday night American Idol Eviction-Prediction.

Disagree? Let me know.

Update: Aww nuts. I came up with the big goose egg on my predictions. I had nearly included Leslie Hunt over Jordin, but apparently Leslie’s “bah dah dop bop” lyrical talents dazed me too much to set my eviction sights on her. But what I can’t believe is that Sanjaya remained on the show. He said he was very shocked, so was everyone else. AJ wasn’t my personal favorite, but he was by no means worse than Sanjaya. What probably saved Sanjaya was what I predicted to be his downfall, youth. He could be pulling in a lot of younger votes due to his own age. Well better luck next week.

I just wrote a post on who I think will be sent home. I agree completely with your predictions for the guys, but I think for the girls, Jordin will last longer. Haley might go, though. I think it’ll be Antonella (unless the porn stuff helped get her some votes) and Alaina. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Haley or Leslie.

You know, you just might be right about Antonella. I did see on VotefortheWorst that they were pushing to keep Antonella, so it’ll be interesting to see if they influence it. My wife also agrees with you about Jordin, she tells me I’m way off there.

Thanks for the comment. I checked out your site, very nice.
