With so many shows out there each week it’s easy to miss the ones worth watching. Then there are some that are impossible to miss. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on:
Monday: overlapping shows, so get your DVR ready
24: 9-10pm on Fox; Episode 13; We’re up to 5pm and as always, there’s plenty of action. Wayne and Assad are both out (but just how “out”?) from the failed assasination attempt. Jack is getting help from President Logan, despite his reservations of trust of course. There’s sure to be multiple explosions and Bauer yelling, “Get down!”. Sweet.
Heroes: 9-10pm on NBC; Episode 17; Last we saw Claire was running away with the Haitian after he non-fatally shot HRG. This was all to keep her from being taken by HRG’s boss (Eric Roberts, yeah, random). I’m interested to see how this storyline affects Claire’s involvement. She isn’t out of the show, right? We’re supposed to finally get to see Linderman when Nathan catches up with him. Hiro will obtain his goal, his sword of destiny, so we get to see if his time controlling powers return.
Tuesday: No one is competing with AI tonight
American Idol: 8-9pm on Fox; Tonight the remaining eight male contestants will be competing. After watching the guys perform over the past few weeks you could probably skip this one and wait for Wednesday when the ladies are up. Is anyone else disappointed overall with the male contestants?
Wednesday:
American Idol: 8-9pm on Fox; The ladies are back for their round. It’s down to the last eight females. After my disastrous predictions last week I’ll wait till they’ve had their turn on stage to start guessing.
Lost: 10-11pm on ABC; Last week was terrible. It felt completely out of sync with the show, but I guess that’s why everyone is stopping watching. I’m so invested it’s hard to stop, but episodes like last week with Hurley and the ripped from “Little Miss Sunshine” with the push the broken down VW bus to get it started bit, have really pushed me away. This week: Locke, Sayid, and Kate investigate a new building and maybe discover who was the eye-patch man. And, *cringe*, Sawyer competes in a ping-pong contest to get his stuff back. Sigh.
Thursday: busy night so you might want your DVR going again
American Idol: 8-9pm on Fox; 4 more contestants are going home. That will get us down to the coveted final 12. I wonder how many times Randy will say “dawg” and “bomb”. Maybe even “dawg bomb” or “bomb dawg”. Either way Paula will assure them they were wonderful and she has no idea what America is basing their votes on.
The Office: 8:30-9pm on NBC; It’s a repeat, but if you haven’t seen it yet you should. The Scranton and Stamford branches are merged. Michael will say something uncomfortable and Jim will look at the camera and go “Huh?” with his little smirk. Dwight needs more air time as he’s becoming my favorite part of the show.
30 Rock: 9:30-10pm on NBC; This is becoming my favorite comedy of the week. The scripting is very smart and extremely well delivered from Baldwin, Morgan, Fey, and the rest of them. I heard this is getting pulled temporarily soon to make room for Andy Barker PI. So be sure to watch this before that. If you haven’t seen any of them yet or missed a few check out NBC’s website and you can watch all of them. Highly recommended.
Friday:
Not much to offer up here. House, Grey’s Anatomy, and (is it even worth mentioning) Ghost Whisperer are all repeats tonight. You could always watch 1 vs. 100. Not the best game show, but not terrible either. I can’t last for a full hour of it though. You should probably just go out and see a movie. Check back here on Friday for my Weekend Movie Preview Lineup to see what your options will be. Okay, that’s my set of Don’t Miss Shows for this week, March 5th-9th.
Have another show to add? Send me a message and let me know what else you think should be on this list.
