Wow, great turtleneck you’ve got there Seacrest. Now it’s time for the ladies to perform and help us determine who will be in the top 12. It should be like a totally different show tonight from last night.
Notes: Carrie Underwood will be guest performing tomorrow night.
Jordin Sparks: Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker
- Very lively performance, but the song itself wasn’t great
- Randy: “wasn’t your best performance… better than all the boys last night”
- Paula: “you’re getting better each week… gonna be here for a long, long time”
- Simon: “a bit manic, shrieky… you will 100% be here next week”
Sabrina Sloan: En Vogue - Don’t Let Go (Love)
- Randy: “not my favorite, but a solid performance”
- Paula: “you can sing, sing, sing”
- Simon: “lacking the emotion I see from your main competitors… robotic”
Antonella Barba: Corinne Baily-Rae - Put Your Reconds On
- When she’s not splashing in fountains she enjoys playing the violin
- very nice Julia Roberts’ boots selection tonight
- Randy: “nice ending but pitchy in the middle… another okay performance”
- Paula: “I think you picked the right song”, umm okay
- Simon: “you’ve gone as far as you can go… I wish you could sing better”
Haley Scarnato: Faith Hill - If My Heart Had Wings
- Dislocated her shoulders as a gymnast so she took up singing
- I was not impressed with the song at all, very Disney-ish
- Randy: “okay, I wasn’t jumping up and down… no yo… needs some wow”
- Paula: “you sang it well and looked great” that’s all Paula could muster
- Simon: “I thought it was horrible… a ghastly high school performance… could be your final performance”
Stephanie Edwards: Mary J. Blige - Sweet Thing
- been singing since she was 3 yrs old, used to be very shy
- very soulful performance
- Randy: “A for valiant effort… pitchy problems in there”
- Paula: “darn near flawless… great showmanship… command of the stage”
- Simon: “one of the best we’ve got… a little bit copycat… 100% final 12″
Lakisha Jones: Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing
- she’s terrified of any, any animals
- another Houston cover, nearly pulled it off
- Randy: “I like that… another great performance by the great Lakisha”
- Paula: “you’re gonna stay right here and work on being the next Idol”
- Simon: “you brought passion, talent, believability”
Gina Glocksen: Evanescence - Call Me When You’re Sober
- she carries lucky charms with her
- gee, surprising song choice considering she dresses like she thinks she’s in that band
- Randy: “finally the real Gina comes out… I loved that”
- Paula: “you’ll fall flat a little bit… this style suits you best”
- Simon: “first time I saw you look comfortable… tended to scream the song… I really, really hope you make it through to next week”
Melinda Doolittle: Lee/Muldaur - I’m a Woman
- a few OCD behaviors
- She continues to be the top performing female contestant
- Randy: “the hottest one of the night”
- Paula: “brillant on stage… you’re fantastic”
- Simon: “you little tiger… I love that”
Great performances nearly all around tonight. It should be close tomorrow night with this group.
