Update: Welcome to all our StumbleUpon traffic! We’re flattered that someone deemed us worthy. Below is a short post I wrote about another (and very successful) blogger, John Chow. If you’re interested in reading something more entertaining check out our categories for what you’d like. Here are a few options:
- American Idol: Read the performance recaps or American Idol Separated At Birth for a laugh.
- Celebrity: Hear our views on the latest celebrity mishaps.
- Movies: See what’s hot in the theaters now, like the latest blockbuster 300.
Update to the Update: I had been a big fan of John Chow’s site until recently when he posted about a dishonest tactic of forcing affiliate cookies upon unknowing or consenting readers/visitors to his site. He detailed how he could open an affiliate’s site within a nearly invisible iframe within his site, thereby registering you as a visitor to the affiliate and potentially earning a referral bonus without you even choosing to click through. This behavior is considered fraud by companies and can and will get you banned as well as your earnings erased. As such, I can no longer recommend you visit John Chow dot com and I have removed all direct links to his site. He seems to be more interested in making money off you in shady, unacceptable practices then helping or informing you. Travel there at your own risk.
And now, back to the original post:
WildBluffMedia.com was started with the intent of becoming a discussion area for all sorts of modern media and more precisely a soap box for my friend, Wild Bluff Walt, and me, Wild Bluff Matt, to spout off about the latest Hollywood successes and disasters. In our short time of existence I have realized that there is a lot about blogging that I need to learn in order to become successful and, more importantly to me, become truly entertaining to the audience.
Despite its appearance, blogging is not easy. Although a review (or rant) might take a minute to read it often takes over an hour to get right. I never imagined the minutia of details involved in configuring the software to add new features, finding ad systems to help cover the costs, or even tracking down others who are willing to help a newbie like me. What’s been a big source of information for me is digging through the archives over at JohnChow dot com. The new posts are good too of course, but he’s got a lot of information grouped if you’re looking.
So for anyone else getting started like we are, or even for those looking to teach an old dog some new tricks I highly recommend taking a moment and poking around at John’s site. He’s a pretty generous guy despite his panda-killing tendencies and would probably be willing to point you in the right direction.
Alright, enough of the plugging. Now back to the show…

Yeah writing a blog is a difficult task especially when English is not your first language. I find that I spend hours to write a short entry of less than 400 words because no matter how much I edit it, it just doesn’t sound right!!
*Pokes John Chow*
Good luck!
PS. I’m running a similar thing on my blog.

Yeah writing a long article takes quite a bit of time to research and to find relevant associated materials if necessary but I have found after blogging for just over a month and a half that its becoming quicker.
John claims he only needs to spend a couple hours each day on his blog now, and I don’t doubt him.
BTW: after revisiting your blog, I was reminded to edit the template to add the author name back in
Thx!

Well that’s good to know it gets quicker after awhile. Yeah, I imagine John must spend plenty of time to get it so well polished.
Glad you found something useful! I was surprised this template didn’t have that feature. Now I’ve just got to figure out how to make it clickable to pull up our individual postings.

Thanks Chris. Really glad you enjoyed the site. Walt, the other author here, did up the logo graphics. That little guy has turned out quite handy for avatars.
Keep checking back in. We put up plenty of new posts each day.
