Watching the group perform together really highlighted the strong and weak points in this year’s near finalists. I was amazed by how good Brandon Rogers sounded, which was a totally different impression I’ve had from past episodes with him. If he sang like that on competition night he’d be much more secure during the week. On the ladies’ side it was obvious that Antonella has been marginalized by the producers. She barely had any screen time tonight in comparison to the rest. I guess I’ll know by the time this post is done whether or not I get another week to mock.
Oh, and nice outfit Blake. Are those fake casts on your wrists or is your shirt just too long?
Alright writers, enough with these fake out reveals. “One of you is in the final 12. Both!” Huh? “Chris, you are not… going… to find out until after the commercial.” The fact that Sligh didn’t slug Seacrest is a testament to his patience. It’s not funny, it’s annoying and obnoxious. Cut it out.
Well Phil made it. I was wrong, again. But my wife was right though, Jared is out. Not surprising really, wasn’t too much exciting about Jared.
Carrie Underwood came back to the show tonight to perform and then hopefully have a meal sometime soon. Carrie sang “Wasted” her from new album “Some Hearts”. She sounded really good, but seriously looked a bit too thin. Just me? Anyone else think that?
Dang. 0 for 2 so far. Antonella just got the boot, and not like the good ones she wore last night either. Oh oh, was that a tear in your Sundance?? Didn’t learn your lesson from last week, huh?
Phew. I just got my first one right. Sabrina is out, but Haley stays?? What? Hey! Sundance is crying! He just wiped his tears when Sabrina got the boot.
The big announcement tonight on American Idol is that they’ll be starting a benefit program, “Idol Gives Back”, to support poverty stricken areas around the world. Viewers will be able to support the program by calling in to vote and then a portion of those proceeds will go to the cause.
The final face-off came down to Sundance Head and Sanjaya. And um, Sundance lost. What?? Sanjaya made it?! That’s a load. Well it’s official, Sanjaya has an immunity idol hidden away somewhere. Paula stood up and was clearly upset. She said she didn’t understand what’s going on and I think the rest of America would agree, well except for the knuckleheads that voted to keep Sanjaya.
Voted-Off Summary:
- Antonella Barba (missed it)
- Sabrina Sloan (called it)
- Sundance Head (missed it)
- Jared Cotter (missed it)
Well I’m now 1 for 8. I should probably just quit at this…
