Alright, we’re back to eviction day on American Idol so it’s time for my American Idol Eviction Prediction. If you missed either night you can read about what each performer sang and what the judges thought here: Men and Women. I figure I can’t do worse than last week with my guesses, so here it goes.
Male Evictee Predictions:
- Sanjaya Malakar: How he survived last week is a mystery, but what isn’t is his dull performance of John Mayer’s Waiting on the World to Change. None of the judges were impressed, nor was I.
- Phil Stacey: He chose LeAnn Rimes?? Nothing about this guy is memorable other than the look of too much stage makeup on a corpse. The song was bad and so was his delivery.
Female Evictee Predictions:
- Haley Scarnato: Her performance of Faith Hill’s If My Heart Had Wings was plain and uninspiring. Simon called it “a ghastly high school performance”. With so many great women in the group Haley just didn’t stay above the bar.
- Sabrina Sloan: She wasn’t all that bad, but she just didn’t stand out in the crowd either. I think she’ll get lost in the mix and simply won’t pull the votes to stay tonight.
So there are my predictions, hopefully better than my 0 for 4 a week ago. Despite Antonella Barba not being a true top competitor I believe she’s built a fanbase from all the news surrounding her photos. She most likely deserves to head home tonight, but I don’t see it happening.
My favorite at this point from both sides would be Chris Sligh and Melinda Doolittle. Both have a great voice and have been putting a lot of energy into their performances. Considering they both went last this week makes me think they’re doing well enough in the polls that American Idol holds on to them to make sure the audience doesn’t drop off. Just a theory.
Think there will be different evictees? Maybe you agree with me 100%. Let me know.

I half agree with your predictions… I think Sanjaya and Hayley need to be goooone. I do not think I can stand one more week of them, it is really just painful to watch!
Check out my blog for more of what I thought about the performances! http://blog.gotuit.com
Thanks

Agreed! Hayley belongs on the Mouseketeers and Sanjaya should be at home watching it.
If Sanjaya survives for another week then I’ll be fully convinced he’s got an immunity idol. Huh? Wrong show?
