This weekend is slim on its new movie offerings, but thankfully we only need 1, or should I say: we only need 300! But in case awesome action isn’t your thing you may have a theater near you showing the other new, semi-limited release.
300
Director: Zack Snyder
Cast: Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, David Wenham
Rated: R for graphic battle sequences throughout, some sexuality and nudity.
Plot: In 480 B.C., Spartan king Leonidas (Butler) leads 300 of his warriors into battle with the Persian army, who are bent on conquering Greece.
Trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809262865/trailer
Preview-Review: This movie looks awesome. It’s coming to us from Frank Miller’s mind just like Sin City. So you know there will be great style with the characters, settings, story, and all the rest.
The Ultimate Gift
Director: Michael O. Sajbel
Cast: Drew Fuller, James Garner, Abigail Breslin
Rated: PG
Plot: A privileged young man learns to rethink his life, thanks to a series of tasks his recently deceased grandfather has him accomplish as part of his inheritance.
Preview-Review: Brewster’s Millions but with a heart of gold. Considering the behavior of trust fund babies out there these days this might not be such a bad idea. With a PG rating it offers a family friendly to 300 this weekend.
So there are your options. If neither float your boat, check out last weekend’s Zodiac, which was a great thriller. WildBluff Walt and I are off to see 300 now though. I’ll post on it later.
