It’s another week of shows coming at you and where here to help. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on:
Monday:
24: 9-10pm on Fox; It’s now to 6pm in “24″ land. Last we saw Jack had been taken hostage at the Russian embassy. Apparently he learned nothing from last season’s capture following an attack on the Chinese embassy. Assad is dead and being used as the scapegoat on the presidential assassination attempt which unfortunately failed (Wayne = not a good president actor). Now if only we could get some help from an 80’s childhood star that has spent the last decade jumping from show to show. Wait! My wish has come true: CTU newcomer Mike Doyle (Rick Schroder) joins the hunt for new leads.
Heroes: Just an update, no show. Heroes is off until mid-April. So you’ll just have to wait for more info on Linderman, Claire, Hiro, HRG, etc.
Tuesday:
American Idol: 8-10pm on Fox; We’re down to the final 12 contestants. In case you missed it last week, here’s a recap for you. Tonight all 12 will compete so it’s a 2 hour show.
Wednesday:
American Idol: 9-9:30pm on Fox; We’ll find out who will be the first of the final 12 to go home. [Sanjaya! Sanjaya!]
Lost: 10-11pm on ABC; I read a teaser for this week that said, “Find out how Locke was paralyzed”, but then nothing about that followed after the link. It’d be nice if they finally answered that one, but why bother. They’ll probably just do something stupid like have Sawyer challenge Hurley to double or nothing over a game of badminton. Anyways, the plot summary for this says: Charlie exhibits peculiar behavior when Claire has an idea that could get everyone rescued; tensions mount between Sayid and Locke as they continue their journey to rescue Jack. Ho-hum.
Thursday:
The Office: 8-9pm on NBC; It’s a repeat, but again if you haven’t seen it yet you should. Plot summary says: Andy suggests that Michael pair up employees on sales calls; Dwight tries to cover when Angela misses an important deadline.
Andy Barker, P.I.: 9:30-10pm on NBC; Okay, this is taking the place of 30 Rock for now (it better just be temporary). I’m a big fan of Andy Richter (Conan, Big Trouble, Andy Richter Controls the Universe), so hopefully this will be good. He plays an accountant that gets mistaken for a private investigator, so he goes along with it as he’s looking for an adventure. This show pulls in the actor who played Buster on Arrested Development and was great, so we’ll see if he adds anything here.
Raines: 10-11pm on NBC; I’m not really endorsing this show, just pointing out that it’s on. Jeff Goldblum is surprisingly funny, but what can anyone do with this type of show? Here’s the plot: he sees ghosts and they help him solve mysteries. Sound familiar? How about Medium, also on NBC, as well as Ghost Whisperer with Jennifer Love Hewitt. This might be just right for you if you like those shows, otherwise…
Friday:
The Soup: 10-10:30 on E!; This is a great show that recaps the week’s entertainment news and non-news with great commentary by Joel McHale. He’s the supervisor character from those Burger King commercials set in an office. Don’t let that discourage you though, he’s really funny.
Check back here on Friday for my Weekend Movie Preview Lineup to see what your options will be. Okay, that’s my set of Don’t Miss Shows for this week, March 12th-16th.
Have another show to add? Send me a message and let me know what else you think should be on this list.

Hopefully this week’s lost will be more revealing. So far this season was pretty disappointing. It’s still my favorite show on tv though

Yeah, it’d be cool if we actually did find out how Locke ended up in the wheelchair. Everytime he gets a flashback I get excited and start guessing based on that flashback, but then it doesn’t happen and I get frustrated. I’m terribly impatient. I think I’ll tivo it first instead of staying up and risking it being a dud. It used to be my favorite too and I’d love for it to regain that spot.
