Last week we had the British Invasion of the 1960’s. This week we’ll jump forward to modern pop music as the theme. The musical coach this time will be Gwen Stefani of No Doubt and, more recently, her solo career. Considering contestants’ preference to attempt songs from their musical counselor of the week I fear we’re in for some painful renditions. I can only hope to avoid the musical torture of Blake Lewis spelling out b-a-n-a-n-a-s over and over amidst beatboxing.
Wild Bluff Media was so impressed with the charity sponsored by American Idol that we wanted to set up a similar effort. So this week we also have a special message for you from Ms. Sally Strothers. She’s asking for your help to prevent the suffering of millions by placing one simple phone call for any contestant other than Sanjaya: American Idol: Save the Children.
Also be sure to check out shocking coverage of American Idol: Separated at Birth.
Check back later tonight for complete coverage of the Top 10 contestants’ performances and what the judges had to say.
