Apparently MTV is as desperate for attention as a 40 yr old virgin. MTV is now running a casting call for a new show entitled Suburban Virgin. The show will follow male contestants ages 18 and up on their pitfall prone quest for a girlfriend. The contestant hopefuls must live within driving distance of LA and have limited to no sexual experience with the ladies.

This sounds awful but should come as no surprise from a network that brings you such cable brain vomit as The Hills, Date My Mom, My Super Sweet 16, and Yo Momma! I don’t understand how they could be pulling in sponsors and/or an audience to watch such tasteless, tacky crap.

Wasn’t this show already being made by another network under the name, “Beauty and the Geek”? At least then it had the slim chance of being mildly amusing. Take away the mildly amusing part and you’re left with the mockery and embarrassment of young males who lack social skills.

MTV, the only thing you continue to do well is suck. Congratulations.

Should you lack any level of self worth, here are the casting call details:

I was hoping this was some late April Fools’ Day joke, but sadly, it isn’t. I wonder how the hell MTV comes up with this crap.

I really don’t get why they don’t just decide to play some videos or have dead air time in lieu of this sort of material.

I think the Yo Momma was the absolute lowest point for me. I loved how it was getting promoted as FES’ idea. That’s like someone starting a show “Tic Tac Toe” and then claiming it was their idea. This guy takes the old’ momma jokes, adds a camera, and then acts like he created something…

Why in the hell would they play music videos on the Music Television network? Have you gone mad?

Heh. Good point. Okay, then I’d vote for just plain dead air or maybe even static.
