Tonight we are left with our Top 9 for American Idol Season 6 2007. Last week we saw Chris Sligh voted off for his weak performance of “Everything Little Thing She Does Is Magic”. Overall, seeing Chris go home that early was surprising, but I was not surprised on that particular night. Later Sligh claimed he was ready and wanted to go home. Yeah, who needs that pesky title of “winner”? Either way we’re on to a new week, a new musical coach, and a new set of performances by our Top 9 this season.
Tonight on American Idol we’ll have the crooner Tony Bennett stepping the performers through their song selections and practice sessions. He should provide a different theme for the show from last week’s guest, Gwen Stefani. I don’t have a problem with Stefani, but I didn’t feel like she was giving much advice. Telling someone they make you sweaty could really go either way there, but thanks for trying Gwen.
So who is it going to be this week? Not who should it be, but who will it be? I really fear that Sanjaya is in it for the long haul here. As much as I loath his singing attempts, he at least adds an element of entertainment. If you can’t wait to see what hairstyle Sanjaya chooses for tonight, you can play along at home instead and make your own Sanjaya Malakar doll!
