The Japanese culture is rich in excellent game shows as compared to our variety. Just try to compare this to Jeff Foxworthy asking you how many sides does a trapezoid have.

So the game here is to win at something like Even/Odds or some sort of hand based duel (a la paper-rock-scissors). The loser has to quickly protect himself with an umbrella from a bucket of quick-setting wax. Once you get hit it pretty much goes downhill from there because you don’t stand much of a chance of getting that umbrella up a second time. I’m rather impressed with the participants dedication to the game. The guy can barely move but he keeps playing along despite zero hope of winning.

That’s one of many reasons I loved living there…the shows were awesome!

I’ve heard nothing but good things from people that used to live over there. I certainly admire their entertainment culture.
