Help save Rome from the barbarian bean counters at HBO HQ. This was one of the best shows on TV. Someone beat me to the punch and has already started an online petition to keep Rome on the air. When I signed it, there were already over 7000 names on the petition. Lets all let HBO know how we feel. The bottom line for me is that Rome and the Sopranos are the only two reasons I keep HBO. No Rome, no Sopranos, no HBO!
Click Here To Sign the Online Petition: Save HBO’s Rome Series!
If you loved this show, I recommend you sign the petition. It only takes a second. If I find a way to let HBO know how I feel in a more direct way than this petition and canceling my subscription I will post that as well. If you find one, let all of us know by adding a comment below.

I beg of you please allow the viewers to have a 3rd. season of rome. I can’t believe that you would deny the public to watch such a wonderful series especially when the viewers have made their opinions know throughout the entire united states. the historical writers are wonderful, the cast is amazing. PLEASE give us another season an allow the viewers a chance to say enough is enough! Thank-you most kindly.

Please bring Rome third season.
June 2nd, 2008 at 5:46 pm
Okay, I have to say. I love Rome. I actually started watching as it now shows in Canada on the History channel. While I a wildly addicted to this show and often watch it about 3 times a week on re-run, I have to admit after the rise of Augustus Rome is at peace and there is no point in having a season 3 unless you jump to the time of Claudius and Nero. maybe the could do a pre-lude to Season 1 or something. It is a shame. The cast was perfect, everyone of them from the incompetent mark anthony to Brutus had their moment. This is how script should be written. No boring good guys vs. Bad guys script.
- Oh the only way to revive the show is buy a lot of DVD, just like they did to the Family Guy.
June 17th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Im from Cincinnati ohio , and I know it would be real tough to make a 3rd season of rome with the same characters b/c after Octavian (cezar) became ruler it was real peaceful not a lot happened and considering Rome Series was made after real events it would be hard but damn it i need another series i bout both series for 80 bucks apiece shouldn’t that show yal that the show is worth i would never spend 80 on another series but if you where to come out with a 3rd i would spend 120 if i had too. and one more thing
PULLO IS THE GREATEST I LOVE THAT GUY
June 17th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
The petition os over 19000 sigs keep it up , if they dont bring Rome back im gunna set HBO on fire with my zippo
June 21st, 2008 at 11:26 am
HBO has done absolutely nothing of interest since airing Rome’s season 2. What? I wanna watch whining self-indulgent bores in therapy? Hell, no! I wanna see them get axed in the arena! I disagree that Season 3 was a non sequitur. The 3rd season could have skipped years or even decades ahead. Rome had no dearth of material to mine. The writers could have incorporated a plot line involving Salome and Herod, John the Baptist or Jesus in Jerusalem. It was hands down the best series on television, but HBO/BBC lacked vision and commitment.
It was worth watching just to see Polly Walker’s Atia. From the first episode in which the bull is ritually slaughtered to her final gaze of Octavian, she ruled the series with Lindsay Duncan, a great British actress. I’d pay dearly to see either of them again. I loved the Italian sets, costumes, and art direction. Of course, manly actors with British accents didn’t hurt either!
June 25th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
I was instructed by a friend the ROME was a must see. So, after the first season was over and then the second…. I finally ran out of things that I hadn’t seen to rent at my local video store. I rented a couple of the DVD’s for part of Season 1. OMG! I could not stop watching. I was glued to the TV watching not only the first season but the entire 2nd season as well. It was the very best series that I have ever seen since the series, I Claudius. Since then… When ever any body asks if I know of any good movies to rent? I only say one word…. ROME! Please continue the series. Please!
Regards
Marla

Rome is an amazing show. It cant be taken off the air. HBO is playing with fire.
July 8th, 2008 at 12:47 am
It’s so disappointing that HBO cancels all the good shows. What were they thinking, there is so much that could be written/shown, just look into history books. So disappointing, I was thinking about ordering HBO, but I guess now, what is the point, won’t be able to watch what I want.
Shame on you HBO, just because you don’t have ratings on paper, it doesn’t mean that people are not interested. Who has time to fill in stuff, you just want to sit down after work have dinner and watch some good/quality TV, but I guess it’s too much to ask now- is it.
One more season would do nicely, perhaps follow story of young Caesar, up to Christianity, tiding up all the loose threats.
HAME ON YOU HBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only concerned on how much profit you make, I thought you are more progressive and do care about your clientele - I guess not - good to know.
July 9th, 2008 at 6:24 am
Many more seasons of Rome would be loved by many.
July 9th, 2008 at 9:12 am
In typical fashion, HBO plans on ending a fantastic program much to soon. The same thing happened to Deadwood. They mutilated the 3rd season and ended it a season early. What is wrong with the folks over at HBO? Rome is such an incredible program. I do hope they will reconsider, I really love this show.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:19 pm

August 23rd, 2008 at 11:20 pm
There’s just so much history here to work with! What take what was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen off?
August 23rd, 2008 at 11:22 pm
We only just got into this show over the last year, but I love it! I hate when shows do not finish what they start.
August 23rd, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Bring back ROME! So much to cover, it can’t end now!
August 25th, 2008 at 12:00 am
PLEASE, bring back Rome!!!! Christ, there’s SO much to cover. They can go on from the foundation of the empire through to Attilla, the fall of Rome and the Byzantine Empire and not run out of material for the next 50+ years!!! They’d have a small but loyal following, which would expand ala The Family Guy and expand in the general consciousness. This is the best thing to come along in the mass media since the Nixon/JFK debates!
August 26th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Please bring back Rome!
September 5th, 2008 at 4:49 am
Bring on Rome for a third season HBO, keep your great name. Don’t let us down, lots of crap shows around this ones a gem!!!! Regards from Melbourne Australia to all.
September 5th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
HBO SUCKS!!!!! BRING BACK ROME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 6th, 2008 at 1:19 am
Rome is truly a masterpiece. Years from now, it will be studied in art classes around the world. Hopefully HBO will decide to make Season 3 and make history. Some say it does not make sense financially for HBO, that people want cheap, easy shows. It is a matter of education, too. How can they choose to watch a great show, if it is not offered ? If HBO would think long term bussiness too, they would decide to continue with Season 3. Meanwhile, you can write them at:
http://www.hbo.com/apps/submitinfo/contactus/submit.do?title=Rome&questiontype=rome
…and continue to hope.
September 8th, 2008 at 12:25 pm

If everybody who wants to see a third season of Rome puts up $100US towards production costs then maybe HBO will be able to go ahead with it. If you’re not willing to do this then you’re the ones who are full of s.
Any petition without putting your money where your mouth is a waste of everyone’s time.
September 21st, 2008 at 8:33 pm
HBO pretty much flubbed up the last episode of Sopranos, left us hanging on Deadwood and now is going to do it to us again on Rome? Maybe we should switch to Cinemax or something. This is riduculous!
September 22nd, 2008 at 3:19 pm
There is an audience obviously for this series and Ceasar Augustus would be even more enthralling than what came before! I understand it must have been very expensive to create because it was so beautifully filmed and the sets were breathtaking; but, HBO has set the standard. There is no other outlet for this type of excellence, in either television or films! Movies now in theaters now are being created for teenagers to enjoy - they are only video games with the stories fleshed out a bit. There is no other venue for the quality of film that can be found on HBO. You guys did it to yourselves! Now, be the grown up artists that you all want to be and bring back Rome!
September 29th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
Love LOVE ROME! I signed the petition.. when was that started anyways? I would put up $100 bucks for HBO to bring it back.. Only the good shows get cancelled…
October 1st, 2008 at 6:44 am

Roma Invicta!
October 19th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Rome please !
The best TV show ever …
October 24th, 2008 at 12:34 am
Season 3 please! We’re still begging after a year & a half??? They wouldn’t bring it back because it didn’t make enough money for them before. They certainly won’t bring it back now. Felix, it wasn’t historically accurate at all but good acting, yes!
October 28th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
I don’t have HBO. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the first season DVDs and am awaiting the arrival of season 2 in the mail, any day now. I can’t remember the last time I was so glued to a series like I have found myself glued to “Rome”. My heart broke for the character of Pullo as he felt left behind watching Vorenus climb the ladder of success; as Pullo so desperately wanted to find love and settle down like Vorenus; needless to say, I found myself drawn to the Pullo character. And Vorenus! Losing Niobe at the end!?! And these two characters aren’t even the big name draws like your Octavians, Mark Antonys, Atias, Servillas, etc. They’re the “everymen” trying to survive in a society where they are second-class citizens. The series is one of the most well-written, well-directed shows out there and for HBO to NOT make a season 3 is the true tragedy.
October 30th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
My mother has been in the dark ages without cable for a long time now, and I recently had been successful in reaching out in this series. This is the best series I have ever watched, and like the CBS show “Kane”, it seems time and money is a problem. I would love another series, but the advertisement has to be a little better to promote such a quality thinking show. You can air them all over again and promote a movie, which I believe has the credentials to be a larger film than the “Gladiator” or any other movie. This is a classic, and I was expecting it to go all the way to Nero and involve the history of Jesus and all.
November 1st, 2008 at 4:17 am
Yes, without a doubt, bar none - the best TV drama I have ever seen (I rank the BBC’s King Henry VIII in the 80’s and I. Claudius in the 90’s up there). It is a shame that HBO created such beautiful piece of work only to leave it unfinished (at least tell us if Vorenus died from his battle wounds!).
Jay T … I love you passion, however your proposed payment scheme falls short of funding even one season. So far 21,200 people signed the petition. At $100 a piece that provides $21 million. I read some where the 22-episode series cost $100 million to produce. At $4.5 mil /episode, our $21 million will buy us almost 5 episodes. This equates to about $20/episode per person. Hmmm…. you know…. that actually sounds like a pretty good deal!
November 5th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
KEEP ROME ITS A GOOD SHOW!!!! GET RID OF SOMETHING ELSE LIKE A COUPLE OF YOUR MOVIE RE-RUNS!!!!!!!
November 15th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
pls keep ROME on the show…….. i’ve been waiting for the season 3 pls don’t cancel it….. CAESAR, CAESAR, CAESAR
November 17th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
I and all of my friends miss watching Rome; even now, over a year after the end of the series, we talk about it every week. Please remember; for all the postings you see here, there are at least 10 people who haven’t posted. Rome crossed gender lines - not just a “soap opera” that women would get addicted to but an intelligently written and directed show with which men also become enamoured. My husband and his friends will occasionally shout “13!!!!” to one another and have “man crushes” on Pullo and Varenus!
Please bring it back!
November 21st, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Best show ever. I have been hoping they would bring Deadwood and Rome back. Only reason I have HBO. Just hope they come to their senses.
BRING ROME AND DEADWOOD BACK!!!!!
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:17 am
PLEASE bring back this most excellent series! I would be willing to pre-pay for a DVD set, even to pay more for a subscription to HBO!!!
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:18 pm
Give me back my Rome!!!
December 15th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
we need to live our past,no way better.
December 27th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Rome is a great show…so was the Sopranos and the wire. HBO ends all its shows prematurely. People get so attached to these characters, then are left disappointed and wondering what the hell happened. People are not going to subscribe to HBO when they feel they will just be cheated. Instead of canceling shows, they should go back to giving everyone HBO free for a week or so, and run these addictive series. But just cutting them off is bullsh*t, and not only will you not get new customers, you will lose the ones you have. Like many people said…the history of Rome did not end just because Augustus ruled during a time of peace…there is so much more to tell.
December 27th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
rome is one of the best shows that i have ever seen. you cannot end it like this - the empire is in its defining moments with augustus! take us through caligula, claudius, nero and the fire, the fall of the empire, hannibal, attilla and the huns. the history of the roman empire goes on and on and on. this show is so good and it deserves so much more. it deserves a REAL ending.
December 28th, 2008 at 12:24 am
Rome was and is an excellent show and how rude of Hbo to take something away like that. It would be understandable to remove the show after one season, but to let us linger to season two and decide to cancel shows little care to youre viewers and it seems like you are going to lose a few others due to it.It just goes to show that Hbo’s head management dont care as long as only stories about americans are being told…….nothing is more important than that. Some culture.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:31 am
Please Keep Rome and all it’s glory on for the people. Keeping Rome off the air is like taking away my oxygen. Please bring it back!
January 5th, 2009 at 12:59 am
Me and my partner absolutly love this series and want more so very much . Surely you must see how much better this is then so many other shows that have so many more seasons behind them.
January 10th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
Please bring Rome back. It is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
January 12th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
Well Im just wondering if they will bring Rome back, I mean you just cant leave off at Octavian geting crowned Concel i mean come on. Please in the name of the gods bring it back to us.
January 14th, 2009 at 6:28 pm
I purchased the box set, such a joy, such a classic, quality piece of work, hats off!
Fantastic!
February 3rd, 2009 at 4:38 pm
My husband and I just started watching this series and we are both hooked, we are major Rome junkies now. It would be a tragedy to see this show ended so soon, you must, MUST continue on with the show!!
LONG LIVE ROME!!!!!!
February 3rd, 2009 at 5:35 pm
HORRIBLE HBO just cancel hbo from my cable provide (comcast) the keep thja stupid show big love and cancel rome who want to see 1 guy and 6 wifes please be realistic ROME need to came back
February 3rd, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Hey come on you guys (HBO) I just finished watching season 1 and 2 (which was recommended to us)with my wife Amber who also posted a comment above and the show was one of the best that I have seen in a long time…you have to, have to please continue with the series. It ended in a such a way that it seemed you just found the quickest and easiest way of doing it. the show and the fans deserve more than that. I’m not sure if you guys take in the full effect of ROME but after reading alot of the comments here on-line, you guys are cutting your throats by never doing this show again. I promise we will be die hards, you created a masterpiece in rome and the fans deserve more.. please take this in consideration and bring the world of Rome back to it’s people!!
March 5th, 2009 at 7:03 pm
Rome series were probably the best tv series EVER.Me
and my friends in Turkey not only watched it on cnbce, also many people purchased the DVDs and we’re all looking forward to watch the 3d,4th ,etc ..seasons.So a lot of bucks to make abroad as well, especially if you consider that Rome series are timeless classics,im sure many years from now people will still be buying the DVDs all over the world. So please don’t let it end like this just because of high costs.
March 6th, 2009 at 6:07 am
How intellectually poor is a society that allows shows such as “Rome” to be cancelled after only two seasons, and continues to watch programs like “Big Brother”, “American Idol” and the like…
March 17th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
Bring it back!
March 28th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
Bring back Rome!!! We need it now more than ever…just read the papers!
April 12th, 2009 at 10:08 am
You HAVE to make a 3rd season. Just got HBO this year and have been riveted watching the first two seasons. Find a way to bring it back. The other new HBO series, besides Big Love, just can’t compare. W/o Rome, Showtime just has the better shows.
April 12th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
Despite the obvious liberties the writers have taken with history, Rome remains a beautiful glimpse into the life of a Roman. From the brutal battlefields, to the inner sanctum of Romes temples we see it all. The characters aren’t unlike many of the people we see in todays political system. This is indeed a show the modern era can relate to.
HBO needs to find some way to get a third season going. I’d even be willing to make a donation (albeit a meager one..but $10.00 is better than nothing right?). Maybe we should all donate! Let a movement sweep the plebs so that we may rise above those of a higher status and save Rome!
April 29th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Best series ever as somebody told above LOST has 6 seasons and it is not even close to ROM. Bring back ROME again.
May 2nd, 2009 at 7:55 pm
We recently subscribed to HBO and watched Rome seasons 1 and 2…we need a 3rd!!
May 8th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Are they crazy!!! Rome is one of the only reasons why I subscribe to HBO, the other is the TUDORS on Showtime. If Rome doesn’t return, I will definately cancel my subscription for HBO. I can settle for basic cable, at least I have LOST, HOUSE and 24.
May 9th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
Rome was one of the most expensive series ever produced (a 5 acre set). Originally, the producers intended a 4 season show, but only 2 seasons were bought and they had to cram 4 seasons of stories in 2, which quickened the history line. I doubt that at this point a third season will be made, since the show was made a few years ago. I read that a Rome movie is in the works, I hope this is true. I think Rome was the best series HBO has ever had, two seasons was not enough. Sadly, the whole thing comes down to money……the expensive production cuts down on profit. The quality of shows produced don’t seem to be important as long as a big profit is made.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
The only thing that is better than watching Kobe and the Lakers lose is watching ROME! Bring it back!
May 27th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
HBO, we need more ROME. It was an exciting series. The director was fantastic, the cast well selected, and the settings beautiful. Why can’t HBO set a trend to continue good programing that the public craves. I really miss the show…even after more than two years.

Rome ranks up there with the likes of The Wire, Damages and Mad Men… all incredible shows which have raised the quality bar to enormous heights. Cannot believe that people didn’t tune in to it in vast numbers… sadly, the plebs are obviously still watching CSI Miami or King of Queens or other suchlike garbage. Signing the petition now!

Bring “Rome” back. Plain & simple. Perhaps the demand needs to be taken to the BBC & the Italian RAI television conglomerate also - give Silvio Berlusconi (RAI’s owner) a cameo role. He’s very wealthy & could surely give a high percentage of funding.
I’m particularly impressed with the per capita contribution idea from fans. My husband & I are “Rome” addicts, therefore glad to donate; giving £20 per petitioner would indeed raise a lot of funding for the third series of “Rome”.
