Tonight we are down to our Top 7 contestants for American Idol Season 6 2007. Last week I wasn’t terribly surprised to see Haley Scarnato sent home, but still disappointed (she was great for site traffic!) that it wasn’t the other usual suspect, Nosferatu Phil Stacey. Though I suspect he’s not long for this world of American Idol.
This week’s musical guest and coach is Martina McBride. My wife is very excited for this one. Martina McBride just had a new album come out, so again we’re seeing excellent promotional timing, but that’s alright cause that’s what this show is all about, selling lots of albums. The theme will obviously be Country this time around as compared to last week’s Latin theme.
I’m really going to enjoy seeing Blake Lewis trying to beatbox his way through another week with a Country song. That should be pretty entertaining. I also have no doubt that Melinda Doolittle will be the top performer again this week, although reader Tony Williams seems to have a hard time believing that I think Melinda is good at this. Finally, if we don’t see Sanjaya Malakar come out kicking in some spurs and a ten gallon hat I’m going to feel let down. Speaking of Sanjaya Malakar, please don’t forget to support our American Idol Charity this week!
