“Out of a million applicants we’re down to four.” - Trump
Tonight is the finale for The Apprentice LA. This season’s finale definitely has a different setting. It’s being broadcast live from the Hollywood Bowl. Also, instead of George and Carolyn The Donald’s co-hosts this finale are his children, Don and Ivanka, who acted as “his eyes and ears” throughout the season.
Before we get to the finale results we get a fast run down on what happened it each week. When the recap ends we’re left with the final four applicants for this season: Nicole, James, Stefani, and Frank. I said it last week and I’ll say it again, that final task of making a 60 second commercial was a total joke and didn’t even result in anyone getting fired. Weak!
The Donald announces that first he’ll first a pair of applicants together, then later the third to leave the one, the only, The Apprentice. Before any decisions we are shown both commercials again. I still think the commercial from James and Stefani was better with their courtroom setting and excellent product placement and usage through the commercial. Frank and Nicole used a smoker’s jacket and kid in the hospital staying next to a bum as their theme. Um yeah. So the applicants are quizzed by The Donald on why they did a better job than their teammates on their final challenge.
Trump asks the previous applicants who they would pick or their opinions for the remaining four. The answers are nothing surprising. This year there are two options for the apprentice to take over. Trump quizzes each person to see what they’d want to oversea should they be chosen. Capcana is the first option where Trump is building a resort in the Caribbean. The second option is building a new Trump Tower in Atlanta. Gee, which would be the better choice, hmm? Atlanta is a fun place, but come on, 250K/year to live, work, and play in the Caribbean is a no-brainer.
Now we’re ready to get our first firings of the night. Trump says he disagreed with Frank’s choice to rehire Surya. Trump loves Frank’s drive, but he’s fired. Nicole is next and Trump disapproved of her choice to have an on-job romance and he didn’t like her commercial. Nicole is fired. I’m really surprised. I really thought Frank was going to be chosen as this season’s Apprentice.
So now it is down to Stefani and James. First we get a video of Stefani’s story which describes her work as a defense attorney. Next comes James’ story where he describes leaving his comfy job to go out and start his own projects. Before we get any more updates from Trump on who is going to be hired we get a special guest, George! He comes out and gives his opinion on the candidates. George suggests that James has trouble staying on track, but Stefani has displayed strong leadership. Well that was a little lopsided in Stefani’s favor.
Next, Trump and his two children (that sounds kinda strange) question each candidate for one final round. Then there’s a final round of chiming in from the peanut gallery (fired applicants). The ladies are pushing for Stefani to be hired while Surya thinks Sanjaya Malakar is the man for the job. Nice way to keep your theme of useless going there Surya. So the lights have fallen and it’s time for The Donald’s decision. This season’s new apprentice is… Stefani.
I think Stefani will end up being a great apprentice for Donald Trump. She did a great job this season and deserved. What do you think?

Did you even watch this show before writing this? James and Nicole’s commercial? Frank and Stefani’s commercial? George praised Stefani’s leadership? Huh?

Each team made a 60 second commercial for Renuzit in the previous week. That was their final task. How did you miss that?
Trump’s previous on-show assistant, George, came out and gave his opinion on each contestant.
What show were you watching?

This was by far the weakest field of candidates(nobody should have won). I can’t believe that Stefani won, she did absolutely nothing to deserve it, never took any risks and was NEVER a project manager. James deserved it and got screwed.

That’s a really good point about Stefani. She never had to step up and perform as the PM, so how could Trump know how she’d handle herself as a PM for him? Watching that clip video of her doing her daily job was the first time I was impressed by her all season. I’m sure she’ll do a fine job, but James definitely worked harder and took more risks only to lose out to Stefani.
I also agree about the “nobody should have won”. The whole bunch seemed weaker than usual for the show.

I agree, that was the first time I was kinda impressed by Stefani, was seeing her video. Other than that, she did NOTHING. Just proves if you do nothing and say nothing to get yourself in trouble, you can get close to the end of this show. If you step up and lose, ur gone. I was so disappointed by the ending, I’m not sure I want to watch anymore. My wife and I both watched religously and after he picked Stefani we both looked at each other with that “HUH” look.

I can’t remember if this was a first for someone to have never lead as PM and then won. I’d think it’d have to be a first. The whole rule about “if you win you remain PM” really took away the chances for others to be PM, especially with Heidi’s team winning over and over at the start.
I wonder if we’ll get the chance for another season though. I read ratings were pretty low. A 6 season run isn’t anything to be ashamed of and its often better for shows to stop at the top then fade away.
