The Bachelor

The Bachelor, An Officer and a Gentleman: Results and Review.

This weeks episode was drama queen central. The emotions were running high and the claws were sharpened. The show started with the girls being given an hour to prepare for a trip to Lake Tahoe with Andy. Bevin was totally stressed because she knew this would be a very active trip and with her damaged ankle she didn’t think she would be able to keep up with the other girls. Once they were settled in their luxury suite, Andy and the girls hit the slopes for a fun day.

Lake Tahoe

Group Date 1: Bevin, Stephanie Kansas (K), Nichole, Danielle
Andy and the girls went out for a nice dinner. Bevin was very out of sorts on the first group date. When Andy took her aside she totally broke down because she couldn’t keep up with the other girls because of her ankle and had to have everyone help her. She was really upset because she didn’t feel she could compete with them. Andy of course came to her rescue so they got lots of alone time together as she cried on his shoulder. The other girls were of course completely bitter. They were convinced she was milking it and I’m not sure they were wrong. Especially when Bevin’s wearing heels like the rest of the girls, her ankle could

After dinner the group went to the casino. Stephanie (K) was the one feeling out of sorts at the casino. She claimed it was due to stress and lack of sleep, yeh right. My opinion was that knowing Andy was a caring affectionate guy, she played the same card Bevin did to get a little extra alone time with Andy. He bought it and felt she finally showed him a vulnerable side. Danielle was a kissing him and kissing up to him during her alone time.

At the end of the date, Bevin scored the alone time with Andy in his suite. The girls all questioned whether this was because Andy really likes her or if this is his bedside manner kicking in and Bevin taking advantage of it. Bevin and Andy were very kissy, kissy, touchy-feely up in the suite. Whether Bevin is taking advantage of the situation or not, Andy is really into her. He likes her alot.

Group Date 2: Tessa, Kate, Tina, Stephanie South Carolina (SC)
Andy taught these four girls to ski. Kate was awful. She hated being out their. Didn’t want to learn. She quit the lesson before it was over which of course is a good move. Tessa and Andy had a nice talk alone. Tessa admitted to feeling frustrated and the difficulty she was having dealing with group dating. Andy of course wanted her to stay and and stick with it. Stephanie (SC) decided she was going to play dirty. She bad mouthed the other girls. She didn’t use any names of course but she was focused on throwing Amber under the bus, no surprise since she got the 1-on-1 date. What a bitch. This was the first Andy had heard of the behind the scenes drama. Kate, who I had liked up until this episode, joined in the dirty play during their alone time. She also told him some stories about Amber and the girls from the first group date. She totally laid out Stephanie SC.Andy claimed to appreciate Kate’s honesty. I guess he couldn’t see that Kates honesty was just self serving. A couple of these girls are stone cold. Some of these girls just seem bent on winning for the sake of winning.

At the end of the date, Tina got the special alone time. Andy is right about Tina, she is one of the few who seems to just want to find out about him and not obsessing about winning. Good for her. In theory thats what this show should be about. The reality is that we watch more for the drama queens than the good girls.

1-on-1 Date: Amber
After talking about her date non-stop since she found out she was going on the 1-on-1 date. I agree with the other girls all of whom thaought she was really annoying. Andy and Amber sat by the fire, having fondue, and talking. It didn’t take long for Andy to bring up the drama the other girls had filled him in on. Amber said all the right things which, from her, are probably true. This seemed to satisfy Andy. The two of them then proceeded to spend a little quality time in the hot tub kissing. He laid the rose on her in the hot tub. Smooth.

At the pre-ceremony cocktail party, Stephanie (SC) dressed in a little dress that alot of the other girls seemed to think was inappropriate. The strip club comment though was a little overboard. Stephanie (SC) tried to pull the same routine on him at the cocktail party Kate stuck her foot in her mouth doing an impression of Stephanie (SC) when she was right behind her. The other girls were jealous of Bevin again during her alone time with Andy again. Kate let the claws come out. She told Amber that the she had heard the she and Andy almost did it. Andy was really upset when he heard this from Amber. In a private moment, Tessa all but told Andy she wanted to go home. She thought that she needed to move alot slower than most of the other girls and so didn’t think she could compete. Andy talked her out of it even when she said she didn’t want to get hurt. He needs to be really careful with her. Andy seemed confident about who he was going to give roses to. By the end of the cocktail party he definitely needed to think that through again.

Pre-ceremony Roses:
1. Amber

Roses:
2. Tessa
3. Danielle
4. Bevin
5. Tina
6. Stephanie (K)

The girls who did not receive a rose were:

Stephanie (SC)
Kate
Nicole

Stephanie South Carolina Kate Nicole

Wow, Andy actually managed to pick the bad apples. He’s smarter than he looks. Way to go, man. Stephanie (SC) was totally shocked. She claimed she sold out Amber for Andy’s best interest (sure we believe you too, just like Andy did). Nichole was also shocked which surprised me. She never really seemed to connect with him. Kate was on the bubble last week and I don’t think anyone was surprised she didn’t get a rose this week.

Next week: Yachting, charity work, and millions in jewels.
