Melanie Brown, Scary Spice, does not let up on this whole “Eddie Murphy is the dad” baby thing. After months of during-pregnancy claims Brown added Murphy to the birth certificate, again eliciting a response of denial from Murphy. In her latest attempt to assure the world that Eddie Murphy is in fact the father of her newly born daughter, Melanie Brown has decided to name her baby after Murphy, well at least part of the baby’s name: Angel Iris Murphy Brown.

“Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy. Iris, as it’s my grandma’s name, Murphy because he’s the dad, and Brown, because I’m the Mum!” said the statement from Melanie Brown

Oh boy, nothing makes a child feel better than to have it named out of spite. There will always be the nice reminder of the man who denies any relation to your existence and wants nothing to do with you. At least she’ll have plenty of things to talk about with her therapist.

Update: It wasn’t until this morning when I said the baby’s name out loud that I realized Melanie Brown’s hidden message. It isn’t Eddie Murphy that she’s after, but instead she thinks that Murphy Brown is the father! It all makes perfect sense. Angel Iris Murphy Brown, just like Melanie said, named after the father! I’m like some sort of super sleuth with extremely delayed reactions. Hey, where’d this bruise come from?
