Hugh Grant, 46, was arrested Wednesday night after getting into a fight Tuesday with a photographer near his home. The photographer, Ian Whittaker, claims that the fight started with Grant abusing and kicking him. It’s likely difficult to determine just when the fight took a nasty turn, but it’d probably be right around when Grant came back with a tub of baked beans (a tub of beans??) and hurled them at the photographer.

Thankfully no beans were hurt, only the photographer’s ego and Grant’s sliding career. The Daily Star ran photos of Hugh Grant with the plastic tub of beans raised over his head, though I have yet to find these pictures. If you see them, please share! London police would only confirm that a 46 year old man was arrested and questioned. Grant posted bail and is set to return in May for any proceedings.
Update: Here are those fateful pictures of Hugh Grant throwing some wonderful picnic side dishes at his admirer. He also seems to be trying to help that same admirer by stomping out a fire in his shoes. Aww, Hugh really, really cares.

This is true. Picnic side dishes can be very upsetting sometimes.
