Tonight on American Idol it’s time to find out who will be leaving our Top 4 for Season 6 and leave us with our Top 3 for 2007. Last night we saw some interesting performances, it was a disappointing set of songs over all for me. Jordin stood out as great, nice change from the week before. Melinda did well, but not great like she should have. LaKisha was a little better this time, but still sinking as she goes. Then there was Blake, and after last night I’m retracting all of the ideas that he could pull this off and win it. Let’s see how it goes.

To get the night going Ryan Seacrest lets us know that Pink will be here tonight along with Barry Gibb, performing separately, although that’d be quite an interesting show to have those two dueting. Not in a good way though, just interesting. Along with those appearances we’re getting a preview of the new Fantastic Four movie: Rise of the Silver Surfer (check out our preview with the trailer).

Pink’s performance is pretty good. I’m a little vague on what she’s got coming out soon. Here’s your chance readers, educate me! Looks like she’s back to the slightly more polished image tonight.

“You Really Got Me Going” is the Ford video-mmercial tonight. That was almost as bad as last week’s “Paint It Black” commercial. We’ll move past that quickly with the group live performances ahead. They’re performing a montage of Bee Gees songs, including “Emotion”, “Islands in the Stream”, and more. I don’t think this can end soon enough for me. It’s like a bad theme park show. The people running the show even had Melinda’s microphone off for the first 5+ seconds of her singing the solo intro. That was a shame.

Next we get a look back the background for each of the contestants. Interestingly all of the contestants but Jordin Sparks were only children. Then there’s a whole slew of cute baby pictures for each of them. Melinda claims to have been the originator of the ‘afro puff’ with a very cute picture of her with little puffs of hair on each side of her head.

Just before getting the results we get bumped to another commercial. I’m guessing we’ll get a partial reveal, then it’ll be song time for Barry Gibb, and then we’ll get the real deal. Okay, the first reveal is up and… Jordin Sparks is safe. Not a big surprise there since she had the best performances last night. You never know though with American Idol’s crazy past of Top 4 vote-offs (can you say Chris Daugherty?)

Before we get more details Barry Gibb us up for his performance of “To Love Somebody”. Kinda strange he’d do the same song that Jordin did last night. I gotta say that I liked her performance better as I’m having trouble understanding him. Maybe I’m just not used to his singing. I’d imagine his fans enjoyed it though.

Alright, another reveal time. We get one more person to sit down from the remaining three: Blake, LaKisha, and Melinda. Our next safety is… Melinda Doolittle! Woohoo! So now Ryan does he usual banter with judges and asks which one of the remaining two are going home. Randy punts, Paula punts, but wait! Simon runs with it and says he believes LaKisha Jones is going home tonight. Is he right? Let’s find out. The performer going home tonight is… LaKisha Jones. Just like I predicted.
