Microsoft announced on Tuesday that Halo 3 will be hitting the shelves on September 25, 2007. Get your XBOX 360 ready as this will be the final installment in the trilogy.
Microsoft is already grinning with what they expect to really dig into Sony’s Christmas sales. “This is going to be a critical holiday for us versus Sony, especially on the console generation side, and they don’t really have an answer for ‘Halo 3′,” Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios, said in an interview.
The hype for this game has been building steadily. Hundreds of thousands of people have already signed up for the beta testing. Pre-orders have also been very encouraging for Microsoft.
All I know is that now I definitely need to angle for a 360 and that this game better take longer than the second one. Halo 2 was awesome, but people were finishing it in a day. I had to pace myself and only allow one level or so a day and I still beat it way too fast.
If you really want to geek it up you can even build your own Master Chief armor gear for the launch party. I doubt it’ll soften the blows when you get your butt kicked though.

I love the Halo series. I have read all the books as well. I just wish M$ wouldn’t screw with us PC gamers like they did. Halo was originaly to be a PC game. Then MS stole (bought the company) and converted it to their then new XBox to be the flagship title at launch. It took forever for the PC version to come out, and they did the same with Halo 2. Now come on Microsoft! You know you are going to release H3 on the PC some day, so why not release them at the same time? You already have 40 Million copies pre-ordered. And don’t make it a Vista only think like you are doing with H2. Your sale of that are going to suck just for that fact!! VISTA SUCKS DEAD DONKY BUTT!! I know I run Vista Ultimate in a duel boot along with my Windows XP Pro x64 Edition.

I had no idea about the history of Halo. Wow, that does suck for PCs, but I’ve gotta admit I’m glad they made it for the Xbox.
You’ve got a pretty good idea there. If the duel launched w/ a Vista only PC version I bet they could make plenty of sales for it to be worthwhile for them. I know I didn’t upgrade from 98 until I had to so I could play Doom 3. Very interesting idea.
