NBC Fall 2007 Television Line-Up Preview: Journeyman & Life

Yesterday we took a look at two other new shows which will be part of the NBC fall 2007 line up: Bionic Woman & Chuck. Today I get to give you a peek at two other new shows for the fall 2007 line up: Journeyman & Life.

Journeyman cast

First up is Journeyman. This is another drama and focuses on a man that is jumping back and forth through time, all the while affecting the people he meets. Wow, if only someone had already thought of this like maybe back from 1989 to 1993 and called it Quantum Leap. I loved that show back in the day, so this show has a lot to measure up against if it wants to pull me in. It does, however, star Kevin McKidd, who played Lucius Vorenus on HBO’s Rome, so if you liked him there and want to see more this is your chance (HBO’s Rome got canceled).

If you’re still interested, here are the details on Journeyman from NBC.com:

Dan Vasser thought he had it all: a loving wife, a great son and a steady job. But life suddenly throws him a curve ball. Dan finds himself traveling into the past with a purpose – impacting people’s lives for the better – and sometimes the worse. While doing so, Dan reconnects

with Livia Beale, his ex-fiancée whom he lost in a mysterious plane crash. Now armed with the knowledge of the present, will he be able to save her? What would that mean to his own future? And how would it change a man who thought he had it all?

Life cast

Okay, time for the second show, Life. This one looks more interesting to me. A cop gets sent to prison, possibly falsely, they don’t tell you for sure from the start. Either way, after 12 years he gets released with an “oops” and $50 million to go along with that “oops”. Instead of getting ticked off he heads back to the force. Somehow I think I’d be heading for my own tropical island instead.

Here are the details on Life from NBC.com:

Meet Detective Charlie Crews. Behind him sit tough years of hard prison time for a crime he didn’t commit. Ahead of him lie the challenges of a world that’s moved on without him. Now it’s time to walk through the painful cobwebs of his past and re-enter the scorn-filled halls of a job he loves.

It’s no easy task, especially when his reluctant new partner is as jaded as Dani Reese. Charlie’s appreciation for life’s details not only offers up unique insights into each crime, it reminds us of all the little things we take for granted.

These two don’t look terrible, but I don’t think they’ll pull me away from Heroes or Lost. I’d probably vote for yesterday’s two previews over today’s though.

Okay, that’s it for my NBC fall 2007 line up previews. Now if the rest of the networks were smart they’d release some of this stuff to me as well (ahem ABC, CBS, & FOX).

[...] smart movie. I’d still be happy to check out Chuck as that one looks pretty interesting too. Journeyman isn’t too high on my list though as I already enjoyed Quantum Leap when it was on years ago. [...]
