As much as I loved the first Resident Evil movie, not because it was that great but because it worked hard to meet details of the games, I’m not so sure about this third installment. The second movie was okay, but since the first one they’ve ditched the Raccoon City feel of the games and taken this all over the place. This third movie is set around the desert and looks to me to be more of a zombie, post-apocalyptic movie than a Resident Evil movie. Oh I’ll still see it of course, but more likely I’ll wait for it on DVD.
Resident Evil: Extinction Plot: Alice, now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Olivera and L.J., along with new survivors Claire, K-Mart and Nurse Betty to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead…and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.

I hear ya Matt. I sure did like the dungeony (is that a word) feel of the first one. I’ll probably see it in the theatre mostly because there will be a “field trip” at work to check it out. Yeah we’re pretty lax some days.

Sure, dungeony can be a word here at WBM, but so is tiredandneedabeery, so it might not count for much.
Good call on the field trip, this definitely looks like the perfect caliber of movie for that sort of thing.
