“America’s Favorite Ballroom”

On last night’s show, each of the three remaining couples performed two routines. The first selected for them by the judges and the second a freestyle routine all their own. I think everyone was a little surprised at the judges scores. I expected them to be higher and include at least one 60:

Apolo & Julianne: 58
Joey & Kym: 56
Laila & Maksim: 55

This may have happened because the couples for the first time had to prepare not two but, three performances this week. The two on last night’s performance show and a third routine which will be judged on tonight’s results show. As a result their routines may not have been up to the same standards as previous weeks. It could also be that the judges wanted a little more say on the winner. Last week the judges scores were so close that they were basically irrelevant. I think the scores above essentially reflect the overall opinion of the judge’s on three remaining couples.

While I have been a big fan of Joey & Kym all season, I think that Apolo & Julianne should win tonight. Joey & Kym have been incredibly entertaining but, Apolo & Julianne have been precise and consistent all season as well as entertaining. Laila & Maksim have done really great job but I don’t think their performances have even been in the same ballpark as the other two couples despite the judge’s scores.
