This is it! The Grande Finale! Tonight one couple will be given the Dancing with the Stars Season 4 Championship. The couples will perform their favorite dance from earlier in the season. The judges scores from this performance will be combined with the audience votes and the judge’s scores from last night:

They were awesome again. I would rather have seen them do the raunchy Cha Cha from week 9 but Len didn’t like that one. Len didn’t see one step he could fault. Carrie Ann was impressed with their teamwork and precision. Bruno liked the youthful energy they brought to their performances.

Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson
Dance: Star Wars Tango
Joey & Kym loved this dance. It didn’t get great scores the first time around but they want to do better. I thought they did much better then last time but it still was not one of their best performances. The judges all said they liked how Joey was always entertaining and put his signature on each performance. Len especially was impressed that they would risk coming out with a dance they hadn’t done well with the first time.

Laila Ali & Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Mambo
Laila & Maks also chose a dance which was less than perfect the first time around. If you have been reading our posts through out the season, you’ll know I am not a big fan of Laila & Maksim but, tonight I really liked what they did. It was far better than their first time. The judges all liked her performance but didn’t seem to have any actual useful comments.

Three perfect scores, so the judges scores tonight basically had no effect on crowning tonights winner. Here is how the scores stood after tonight’s performance:

This Weeks Filler:
I was very surprised, considering that this was a two hour show there was surprisingly little filler tonight. There was less than even in the usual one hour results show (at least it didn’t bother me as much as usual). Tonight it mostly consisted of recaps and interviews from earlier in the season. The “Ad” for Jimmy Kimmel’s ballroom dancing DVD was very funny. The couples who were eliminated earlier in the season each came out and did a short performance. I’m sure they have improved since they left but, compared to the level of dancing we have become used to the past few weeks they still seemed amateurish.
