There has been a lot of action going on around the Star Wars saga these days due to its 30th anniversary, but this latest bit is one of the best parts. Lucasfilms has released a 2 minute sneak peek of their upcoming (2009) series for The Clone Wars. Unlike the previous, similarly titled “Clone Wars” series, this series will be CGI produced which avoids the cartoony feel of that earlier series from 2003-2005.
The Clone Wars will focus on the events between Episode II, Attack of the Clones, and Episode III, Revenge of the Sith. This will be the first project to come out of Lucasfilm’s new animation department. So far it looks very promising. All the main characters will be there: Yoda, Obi-Wan, Skywalker, Mace Windu, and more.

Well it’s about damn time for something that cool to come out!! I hope they do more for between the other episodes. Like between A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. The text at the begining of each of those episodes tells a little of what was going on between, but more insight would be good. I’m already getting giddy.

That’s a good call. I don’t know why they haven’t picked more than just the Clone Wars segment to develop. There’s lots of potential out there and it could go forever.
