It’s another week of television shows coming at you and we’re here to help. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on this week, June 4 - 8, 2007. It’s the summer season, so the schedule is made up of a lot of repeats (which we don’t cover) and then a lot of summer programming. Thankfully there are a few nuggets of enjoyment out there like Pirate Master and Hell’s Kitchen which starts back up this week. Take a look and see what other shows you don’t want to miss this week.
Monday:
Hell’s Kitchen: 9-10pm on Fox; British chef Gordon Ramsey is back for a third summer season to teach and torture chef wanna-be’s. Tonight’s season opener will pit the men against the women in two teams. The prize this season will be a job as a Las Vegas head chef.
New Adventures of Old Christine: 8:30-9pm on CBS; Christine is shocked to learn that Jeff is a grandfather when he attends Grandparents Day at Ritchie’s school. This development causes her to rethink the relationship.
Stanley Cup Finals: Game 4: 8-11pm on NBC; Anaheim at Ottawa in Game 4 of the series.
Tuesday:
On the Lot: 8-9pm on Fox; Five of the remaining directors screen their films. Catch up on last week’s results show.
America’s Got Talent: 9-11pm on NBC; Season 2 premiere where entertainers compete for the $1 million prize. Jerry Springer arrives as the new host and Sharon Osbourne joins the judges panel this season. The Hoff returns along with Piers Morgan.
Wednesday:
So You Think You Can Dance: 8-9pm on Fox; Aspring Dancers audition in Atlanta. Repeat of last week’s auditions to prep you for tonight’s show.
So You Think You Can Dance: 9-10pm on Fox; First round of callbacks in Las Vegas. Skills shown off include: ballroom, ballet, salsa, jive, hip-hop, and krumping.
Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator: 8-9pm on ABC; Auditions in New York
Thursday:
Pirate Master: 8-9pm on CBS; Contestants/Pirates search for $1 million in treasure. Captain Joe Don bribes Jay to be his inside man among the crew. A pirate gets injured during the competition and yet another member will be cut adrift (sadly, they aren’t forced to walk the plank). In case you missed it, last week they sent home “Scientist/Exotic Dancer” John. Yes, you read that correctly.
So You Think You Can Dance: 9-10pm on Fox; Top 20 dancers are selected after the second round of callbacks in Las Vegas.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: 10-11pm on NBC; K&R (Part 1 of 3) - Stress levels rise as Jordan faces emergency surgery and Tom’s family issues take a turn for the worse. Get your fill now as these are the final episodes of the series.
NBA Finals: Game 1: 9-11:30pm; Game 1 of the series.
Friday:
The Soup: 10-10:30 on E!; This is a great show that recaps the week’s entertainment news and non-news with great commentary by Joel McHale. He’s the supervisor character from those Burger King commercials set in an office. Don’t let that discourage you though, he’s really funny.
Check back here on Friday for my Weekend Movie Preview Lineup to see what your options will be.
Okay, that’s my set of Don’t Miss Shows for this week, June 4 - 8, 2007.
Have another show to add? Send me a message and let me know what else you think should be on this list.

Hell’s Kitchen! This is probably the best show we’ll see all summer.

Well no worries. Walt has promised to cover that show, so feel free to gossip and converse away on that one here all summer.

Ah, I forgot to mention that you should watch American Inventor! (ABC Wed. 9PM) The first few episodes are the best and consist of people trying to pass off the most ridiculous inventions ever.

Right on. Consider it added.
I did see a clip of that online somewhere. The guy was trying to sell the idea of carbon filters for underwear. They scoffed him off stage, but I gotta tell ya, that’s not such a dumb idea…

No mention of Creature Comforts? I watched it last night on a whim and it made me laugh out loud.

I just never got into Wallace $ Grommit, but I will certainly add this to the list for next week!

Ah, no worries. I’ve never seen Wallace & Grommit, so I don’t know how it compares. I thought the show was surprisingly entertaining.
