Ahoy Mateys! ust finished watching another thrilling episode of Pirate Master. This week began with Louie out for blood after his ‘brother’ Christian was cast adrift last week. In a bit of foreshadowing, we saw Alexis slacking off and too tired to help her shipmates perform their duties. Apparently she is in the fashion industry and not used to physical labor (awww, poor Alexis).
The Zanzibar Chest
Black Crew: Joe Don, Cheryl, Ben, Alexis, Joy, Laurel, Sean
Red Crew: Kendra, Azmyth, Jay, Louie, Christa, Jupiter, Nessa
The first part of tonight’s treasure hunt was fairly straight forward. The crews had to paddle ashore and then follow a trail through the jungle. Along the path was a sabotage point which would allow the first crew past it to block the trail with a pile of bamboo poles.
The teams were neck in neck until the black crew ran into trouble pushing their boat over sandbar. Then, Alexis just wandered off. The rest of the black crew is back in the boat ready to go and Alexis is just wading around. On the trail, the black team almost passed the red team. Sean was the first to reach the sabotage point but, while the black team waited for Alexis, the red team passed the Sabotage point and released the bamboo. Only quick thinking on Sean’s part kept the black team in the race. He leapt under the bamboo poles as the were falling and held them up while his the rest of his crew made it through.
At the end of the trail, the crews had to cross a ‘raging’ river to find a headless skeleton hanging above a coded rock. The code on the rock tells them to look below the water to find a skull. The red crew easily reached the skeleton first. Louie found the skull which when bashed open gave the crew the key and a map to treasure located under a nearby waterfall. Red Crew won! They won mainly because Alexis was an anchor on the black crew. Louie was practically dancing with joy when his crew won the challenge since Joe Don would no longer be captain.
The Booty:
This weeks treasure was worth $35,000 dollars. The red crew unanimously decided that Azmyth should replace Joe Don as captain. Azmyth selected Jupiter and Jay as his officers. Captain Azmyth received $17,500, Jay and Jupiter split $8800, as did the rest of the red crew. Azmyth decided to redistribute all of the treasure equally among all of the red crew. Jay was not happy but, Azmyth is way smarter than Joe Don. There will be no mutiny while he is in charge. He will be difficult to unseat too because he is such a strong competitor during the treasure hunts too. As captain, Azmyth also started speaking with a British accent for no apparent reason.
Alexis deserved a black spot for her performance. Laurel was selected because she hasn’t really stood out. Azmyth wanted Joe Don to receive a black spot, but Jay argued to keep him. They all agreed on Cheryl instead. They felt that while an officer she was the one who kept herself most apart from the crew.
Black Spots:
1. Alexis
2. Laurel
3. Cheryl
Louie and Jay arranged for Cheryl to go. Sean was the final vote needed so, Jay bought it with $1,000 (I love this part of the game).
The Pirates Court:
After the three girls defended themselves. Joe Don stepped up to defend Cheryl and call out Alexis because of her performance on the last treasure hunt. There were no mutiny cards when the votes were counted so Azmyth was safe. Laurel was also safe. Cheryl and Alexis each received 4 votes. In the case of a tie, the captain gets to decide. Azmyth selected Alexis to be cast adrift (good!). Jay and Louie are going to be pissed. Sean needs to learn if you get bought, you need to stay bought.
Alexis’s voyage has ended as she has been cut adrift.
This went a little better than last week, but I didn’t think the challenges were as good. That’s a tough thing to say since last week’s challenge wasn’t that great either. The challenges should really be a bit more complicated than “run up a hill, get a magnet, kick some leaves until you find the treasure”. Okay, Pirate Master, I’m still interested, but you need to pick it up a little!
Next Week:
Jay confronts Sean on his vote, Joe Don tests Jay’s loyalty, and a big surprise awaits the pirates in next week’s treasure.

I can’t believe that Jay gave Sean $1000! That’s a ton of money just to get a vote. JD should have been funding that bribe as Jay hasn’t made nearly as much money. I was expecting Sean to return the money to Jay after the votes, but maybe we’ll see that next week.
The new accent for Azymuth was hilarious. My wife pointed out he might be trying to be Captain Jack Sparrow. He’s definitely trying to play a character w/ it. He’s also a music producer so he’s artistic/creative/kuh-razy.
Yeah for the fall of Joe Don!

Hah, Azmyths accent was priceless. This episode was much better than the previous. I just hope he stays in power.
