It’s another week of television shows coming at you and we’re here to help. Here’s a break down by night of what you need to be sure to catch and what’s going on this week, June 18 - 22, 2007. Lots of reality TV again this week along with a few new series starting up. I’ve really been enjoying Pirate Master and Hell’s Kitchen. I’m also really getting pumped up for Big Brother 8 coming soon. Take a look and see what other shows you don’t want to miss this week.
Monday:
Creature Comforts: 8-8:30pm on CBS; Winter; The Zoo - Topics include winter and zoos. Very descriptive, I know.
Hell’s Kitchen: 9-10pm on Fox; The 10 remaining contestants cook breakfast for visiting servicemen and women. Members of the winning team receive a day of R&R while the losers aren’t so lucky. Get ready for the losing team to really screw up this week. One of their dishes turns out to be potentially poisonous and Ramsay is anything but pleased with that crew.
Age of Love: 9-10pm on NBC; Tennis player Mark Philippoussis is the prize in this dating competition featuring 13 women split into two groups: Kittens, who are in their 20s; and Cougars, women in their 40s. Tonight Mark just meets the Cougars but then gets surprised by the appearance of the Kittens. What do you think? Should we cover Age of Love?
Tuesday:
On the Lot: 8-9pm on Fox; One director from last week is eliminated. The third and final group of directors screen their films. Wes Craven is the guest judge.
America’s Got Talent: 8-10pm on NBC; Chicago Auditions - Talent-show hopefuls take part in the third round of auditions, judged by The Hoff, Piers Morgan, and Sharon Osbourne. Jerry Springer hosts.
Wednesday:
So You Think You Can Dance: 8-10pm on Fox; The second round of competition for the viewers’ votes with the Top 18 performers: 9 women and 9 men.
Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator: 8-9pm on ABC; Auditions in Las Vegas.
American Inventor: 9-10pm on ABC; Contestants in Chicago and New York City pitch their ideas in hopes of moving on to the next round. Top place from each city earns $50K in prize money.
Last Comic Standing: 9-10pm on NBC; Auditions #3 - A quest to discover comedic talent features a star search in LA and Australia.
Thursday:
Pirate Master: 8-9pm on CBS; Contestants/Pirates continue to search for $1 million in treasure. A royal pardon is discovered along with the treasure (this must have been what they said last week would rock the game). The alliance between Jay and Sean crumbles (yeah, that whole vote flopping incident can’t be good for them). Another pirate will be cut adrift. Check out last week’s episode of Pirate Master and the rest of our Pirate Master coverage.
So You Think You Can Dance: 9-10pm on Fox; Daddy Yankee performs and two of the top 18 are voted off.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: 10-11pm on NBC; K&R (Part 3 of 3) - Jordan’s pregnancy scare and Tom’s family crisis make for a long day at work. Flashbacks tell how Matt and Danny were originally fired from the show (originally? like it happens again?). Counting down to the end of the series. Dead man walking. Kinda sucks too as I finally caught up on my DVR with this show. I’m going to miss it next season.
Friday:
The Soup: 10-10:30 on E!; This is a great show that recaps the week’s entertainment news and non-news with great commentary by Joel McHale. He’s the supervisor character from those Burger King commercials set in an office. Don’t let that discourage you though, he’s really funny.
Check back here on Friday for my Weekend Movie Preview Lineup to see what your options will be.
Okay, that’s my set of Don’t Miss Shows for this week, June 18 - 22, 2007.
Have another show to add? Send me a message and let me know what else you think should be on this list.
