Anyone planning to watch NBC’s new reality show starting tonight, Age of Love? The premise is a 30 year old male tennis star, Mark Philippoussis goes on a dating show and discovers he’s about to be caught in the middle of two groups of women. The first group he meets are the Cougars: women in their 40s; the second group are the Kittens: women in their 20s. He’ll spend the season getting to know them and presumably down select each week as the show moves along. Ultimately he’ll be poised to select one lady overall. Will it be a Cougar or a Kitten??
If you watch the trailer below you’ll notice that these older women really don’t look that old at all. Otherwise it wouldn’t be too tough of a choice, now would it? It kinda sounds like an interesting idea, but I’m also thinking that it’s sort of a reality TV mash-up (check out Steve’s Reality TV Mash-Up ideas) where they took Average Joe and worked it in with The Bachelor. The Bachelor might not always end like you expect, but with Average Joe it’s no real surprise. Each season the girl picked one of the hunks, not the nerds, so why would this show be any different?

I’m going to place my bet right now on a Kitten being selected as the winner. What do you think? Could a Cougar pull this off and beat out the Kittens? Those Kittens look mighty impressive, but to be fair the Cougars aren’t too bad either. Looks like a tough road ahead for Mark! Poor guy.

I’d love to see those ladies in their 40’s triumph. Mostly because those 20 somethings were so rude and obnoxious! Anyone watching could easily see those women in their 40’s handled themselves with class all the way! At least so far….

Very true. If Mark had to pick between them just on week 1 I’d really expect a Cougar to win. Things are going to have to change a lot for me to prefer the Kittens over the Cougars from what we’ve seen so far.
I’m kinda hoping the editors just played the Kittens up in a very negative way and that they aren’t really that bad in real. Otherwise that’d be rather embarrassing for them!

You’re right..so far I’m not impressed by them. What on the inside sure makes a person more attractive…and the opposite as well. If those 20 somethings are as they seem…they’re the losers of the bunch!
Have a good weekend.
