Ahoy there! Gettin’ ready for the next installment of Pirate Master, eh matey? Well, this tonight’s episode should be interesting after the change in command last week. With Joe Don now part of the crew and Azmyth running the show we have already seen sweeping changes in how the ship is being run. But, I’m not sure that is to everyone’s liking. Jay was certainly not too keen on being forced to split his officer’s share of the booty with the rest of the crew. Azmyth was made captain because he has been a strong competitor in all of the treasure hunts and he is certainly less likely to have the authority of being captain go to his head than Joe Don but, I’m not certain that this will necessarily translate into good leadership for the crew.

Azmyth’s approach to the treasure winnings may turn out to be really smart. When JD was the captain and took his lion’s share, leaving only scraps to be divided up, there was little motivation for his team. If you’re on JD’s team it’d be tempting to intentionally lose so you could hope for a better captain being announced and getting on that team next week, hoping to earn more. I’m not sure if these pirates are too short sighted to notice that or not. Now as far as Azmyth’s approach to his new accent, I’m not so sure. We didn’t get a lot of Azmyth camera time before he was captain, but I’m pretty sure that was an entirely new voice he was using. It was pointed out to me that he was likely just playing a character, like Captain Jack Sparrow perhaps. Maybe he’ll have dropped that by tonight’s show, but I’m kinda hoping he keeps it coming.

Tonight, back on the Picton Castle, we’ll find out whether Azmyth can cut it as captain, maybe even an English one. I’m looking forward to the confrontation between Jay and Sean tonight. Jay paid Sean $1000 to vote out Cheryl which he didn’t and Jay isn’t too happy about that. If I was Sean I’d swear I did vote against Cheryl and someone else changed their mind. Jay can’t actually prove how Sean voted, so that could work. Tonight, our ex-captain Joe Don tests the loyalty of his former bosun’s mate Jay and a big surprise awaits the pirates in this week’s treasure (psst, it’s an immunity doll of sorts!).
