Oh the horror, the horror. A few weeks ago I joked about Rosie O’Donnell taking over for Bob Barker. I never imagined that it could stand a serious chance of becoming a terrifying reality. Rosie, according to her website, has been calling the Price is Right producers every day nagging them to give her the show. Well on Friday she’s going in to talk with them about doing just that.
I’m hoping this is just an elaborate trick to catch her so Barker can finally spay her and save the world. Could you imagine Rosie hosting this show and then berating contestants over how much gas the Jeep they just won consumes? Instead of guessing prices she’d make you guess how many soldiers died just so you could have enough gas to drive to Starbucks and back. Sounds great. Barker must be rolling in his grave. Wait, what? He’s not dead yet? Well then it seems a little early to be pissing on him.
Update: Follow-up where it sounds much safer for everyone that Rosie isn’t as close to getting Barker’s old job as she may have hoped.

Yeah. I don’t think I could even come close to thinking of someone worse than Rosie to take over that show.

omg, i agree 100%. I have been a faithful view of the price is right and i will not continue watching if they bring on Rosie. No way, The View messed up bringing her on, I find her to be so annoying, I heard there is a patition on the enternet for people who would rather see the price is right not continue then have her host it, what a disgrace to Bob!!!

Very, very true. The show would be so much better off just ending than to have Rosie come on as host. I have such a hard time believing the producers could seriously be considering her for that role. That’ve gotta be able to see what a bad idea it is.

So I thought I heard that Bob and Rossie are buddies. Do you happen to know if that is true?

From what I heard he used to go on her talk show, way back in the day. If he was enough of a repeat visitor they could have become decent “Hollywood friends.” I think he was just trying to be friendly/nice when he was asked about her doing his show.
