The Big Brother 8 doors have swung wide open to our curious eyes (see all the BB8 house pictures here) and soon the hamsters will go marching (by random grouping, of course!). Last week I wrote about the casting stereotypes we see each year, and now that we have our Big Brother 8 cast revealed, let’s see how I did.

Amber, 27 Las Vegas Separated Cocktail Waitress	Carol, 21 Lawrence, Kan. Single Student
Daniele, 20 Huntington Beach, Calif. Single Waitress	Dick, 44 Los Angeles Single Bar Manager
Dustin, 22 Chicago Single Shoe Salesman	Eric, 27 New York Single Talent Management Assistant

Hmm. A separated cocktail waitress, huh? Could Amber be our “loudmouth”? Carol is quite young. Can we expect more Michelle famous sayings like, “I’m about to pull a 360 on them!”? Danielle could be our Janelle substitute for this season as our “The Hottie”. Oh who are we kidding?? It’ll never be the same without Janelle! Waaaaaah. Then there’s Dick, the “Older Guy” with his red highlighted/tipped hair. I hope they added him to the cast for more reasons than to say “Dick” on TV three nights a week. Wow, more young’ins with Dustin at just 22 years and a shoe salesman, none the less. Too bad he isn’t a car salesman like Jay over on Pirate Master, that might have provided him with more sneaky abilities. Eric reminds me a little of James. But will he be as crafty? That’d be tough to do.

Jameka fills our character role of “The African American” and sadly the diversity seems to end there this season. She’s from Waldorf, MD, which is near where I grew up, so clearly that means she’s the smartest of the bunch. Could we have our new Danielle? Then there’s the nanny Jen. That skill should come in handy considering the babies they’ve had on this show in the past season. Jen could also be our “The Brunette” of the season as she meets the obvious criteria, but we’ll have to wait and get a better look next week to see if she’s as pretty as the past “brunettes”. Jessica is another young student, this time from the mid-west. She looks like a Diane type character to me, kinda cute, but really ferocious. Let’s hope so. Ah yes, on to Joe, our receptionist. If you’ve seen this guy in the commercial you may also be wondering, “is this our character ‘The Homosexual’?” Now he could easily just be playing silly, but I may be hedging my bets on this one (though Dustin isn’t far behind).

Nick, 25 Kimball, Minn. Single Former Pro Football Player	Zach, 30 Burbank, Calif. Single Graphic Designer

Next up is Kali as our “The Older Gal” at 37 and married. She’s a business owner, so hopefully we’ll get some more game-playing-smarts out of this one. Swinging back down the age scale we come to Mike, 26, who could possibly be one of our “The Jocks” guys for the season. Let’s not stop there though while we’re talking about “The Jocks” as the next one could be right there with him. Nick raised his arms on the BB8 commercial last night and scared the crap out of me. This guy could pummel The Hulk with his cartoonishly large arms! He’s a former pro football player, which is surprising to be that young (25) and already retired from pro football. I’m sure we’ll learn more about that soon. Last but not least, Zach closes the list as the 30 year old graphic designer. Sounds like a Michael Donnellan replacement to me. Our last 3 houseguests there could easily be our next “The Mob” game players.

Quite an interesting bunch this year. This has to be the youngest average aged group we’ve had so far. I’m hoping for lots of laughs this time around and even more conniving and backstabbing!
