Ratatouille

It was another big blockbuster weekend for movie earnings as the audiences really turned out for these movie offerings. I wasn’t surprised at all to see how well Live Free or Die Hard (read our review) performed as it was an awesome action movie and totally lived up to the Die Hard franchise’s history (well, not counting #2, of course). While it took second place over the weekend it did make an additional $15 million in the first two days of its release (Wednesday and Thursday) which aren’t included in the numbers below, so it’s really at $48.1M already. Ratatouille surprised me with how well it did, earning the top spot with $47.2 million over the weekend. Not too bad, but not outlandish for a PIXAR film either. Evan Almighty slipped lower to #3 with a mere $15M in box office earnings. They’re still pretty far off from breaking even on that one (just need about another $200M!). I was glad to see 1408 (read our movie review) staying near the top in the #4 spot with $10.6M. New release, Evening, barely snuck into the top 10 in the bottom spot with a lowly $3.5M which surprised me. I don’t think this was too heavily marketed though. Well there’s your box office earnings for movies this weekend: June 29 - July 1, 2007.

I think my kid weren’t with me I would’ve enjoyed Rattatouille, but it’s not a kid friendly movie for sure!

In a summer full of disappointing trilogies. Die Hard was AWESOME!

Wow, I had no idea. I’m surprised by all the things the article mentions that were in the movie, especially the couple with the gun. That’s very disappointing.

Heck yeah it was! I was so relieved with how good it proved to me. It gives me hope for Indiana Jones 4.
