Last week it was Vinnie’s last meal following his poor performance in Hell’s Kitchen. This week the Blue team is ready to step up their game considering they keep losing week after week. The Red team is having a few personal relationship issues of their own, but will it finally be enough to cause a loss?
Challenge
Tonight’s challenge is a special, first time event. The chefs will be cooking for a wedding reception. Yikes! A wedding reception at Hell’s Kitchen?! Each team has 30 minutes and $100 to get everything they need to make a great tasting menu that would be appropriate for a wedding event. With such a small budget the teams have to keep a close eye on their spending for this challenge. Both teams barely make it to the check out lane just in time, but it’s the Blue team that ends up $37 over budget while the Red team keep within their allotted amount. After a few removals, including the wine, the Blue team makes it down to $99 and change.
Now that the shopping is over, both teams have just one hour to prepare the meals. Melissa is quick to aggravate her Red team as she takes on the role of dictator. The Blue kitchen is working together much better, but they are running out of supplies quickly.
Instead of Chef Ramsay tasting the food he introduces the bride and groom, Carlota and Cyrus, who will be doing the judging for tonight’s menu. The team with the most dishes selected by the couple will win this challenge. When the time for presentation arrives Melissa surprises her team by declaring their food should not be served to the couple. Chef Ramsay is quick to tell her she’s wrong and that she won’t get to ruin this couple’s big day. And so all dishes are brought out for the competition’s tasting. The first round, appetizers, goes to the Blue team with their crab dish. The next course, sea bass, is presented and the couple selects the Red team’s preparation, evening the score. Now for a little drama. It’s time to present the meat dishes and Melissa again protests bringing out their dish. Chef Ramsay starts to get pissed off again and demands it be brought out right away. The Red team reveals an ungarnished and ill looking plate of duck breast. Ugh. The couple doesn’t even end up tasting the duck and so the point goes to the Blue team’s rib-eye meal. That means the Blue team has just secured their first win in Hell’s Kitchen and are treated to a day spa excursion.
Dinner Service
Melissa’s problems aren’t over for the night and she continues to screw up nearly everything she touches in the kitchen. Slowly the problems shift to the Blue team as they appear to be moving very slowly tonight. Looks like they pick up the pace though as for the first time this season all the appetizer go out in the first hour. Another first, everyone at Hell’s Kitchen has been served all their meals tonight.
Results
Unfortunately, not everyone can be so lucky and there must be a loser. Chef Ramsay determines the Red team to be the losing team. Jen is selected by Chef Ramsay as the top performing chef on her team and so she must select the two chefs for possible elimination. Back in the kitchen Jen quickly nominates Melissa and Bonnie. Posed with these options Chef Ramsay decides to send Melissa to the Blue team and sends Bonnie back to her Red team. That means no one is going home this week on Hell’s Kitchen. Chef Ramsay later comments that he’d never seen such a great chef turn bad so quickly as he saw with Melissa, and so she is given another chance with a new team. The Blue team is clearly not pleased with this turn of events while the Red team is thrilled to have Melissa out of their hair and their kitchen.
Next Week:
The big challenge comes up with lobsters and aggravation as, surprise surprise, the chefs are at each other’s throat. Julia starts to really crack under the pressure and Bonnie heats things up in Hell’s Kitchen with a fire. We are also promised an elimination round like we’ve never seen before. Woohoo! See you next week back here at WildBluffMedia.com.

Goodbye red team.

That red team is going to die. Such good entertainment.
I hope the exhaust hood goes off. Man I hate it when that happens, but with the fire retardant flying everywhere, it is quite a show.

Yeah, the Red team was in bad shape last night. But I’ll be interested to see just how much of the problem was Melissa and with her now on the Blue team will those problems go with her? That sucks for Blue because they finally started to get it right.
