Plot: The Earth is caught in the middle of an intergalactic war between two races of robots, the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons, which are able to change into a variety of objects, including cars, trucks, planes and other technological creations.

Okay, Transformers needs little introduction to most audiences and it actually surprises me that it’s taken this long to get a Transformers movie (live action I mean, because there already was “The Movie” cartoon version from 1986). This is going to be a big time action movie with tons of special effects and explosions every 5 seconds. If it drops to every 10 seconds I’m going to be disappointed. Actually, oddly, I’m still working up my interest in this. I was all ready for it a few months ago when I put up the Transformers preview , but somehow the desire has waned a little. I think I’ll need that initial push of some strong reviews coming back on this one to really get me in the mood.

Considering it actually was available in some theaters last night is a little odd. First this movie was supposed to be released on the 4th of July, just like the trailer still says: “7.4.7″, but then it was quietly bumped up to the 3rd, and then even more quietly it was limited released the evening of the 2nd and not even as midnight showings. Perhaps they’re hoping for the same effect as I am, a good word of mouth building up more interest.
