Finally. We’ve made it to premiere day of Big Brother 8 and I’m very excited. We’ve met our new cast of house guests, we’ve learned about the new theme, and we’ve even gotten a tour of the bizarre new house design. On Tuesday the 14 (or 15 if you count the strange, brief appearance of Samantha) left sequester and entered their new home. Since then their every move and conversation has been captured and preserved for its reveal tonight on the first episode of Big Brother 8. The online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) will also be kicking in so anything we’re missing in the broadcasts will now be available.
That means tonight we’ll watch the house guests scramble to find beds and alliances as they first enter the house. From there the horror should start to sink in as they realize they’ve been set up and are facing their “worst enemy!” I’m sure the producers are hoping for huge sparks, but if it’s like season 4’s “ex factor” the enemies angle could come in a little flat. Hopefully they’ll have done a better job in selecting their test subjects this time around.
Beyond the initial hoopla of bright lights and big eyes the game should get into full swing tonight with the first HoH competition. Last year we were actually treated to a rarity, two HoHs at the same time, something I won’t expect us to see again tonight. It’s impossible to have a very educated guess at this point on who could take the first Head role, but just for fun I’ll roll the dice and guess Nick. Nick looks to be our tough guy this year, so if it’s another endurance or strength event like we’ve seen in round 1 before this would certainly give him the edge.
Sitting on the edge of 60+ days of non-stop insanity I’m filled with anticipation. Will someone get so angry they’ll be expelled before the first eviction like Scott in season 3 (he only lasted 8 days!)? What are the chances we could have another mastermind like Will? Or a new “America’s Favorite” like Janelle? Thankfully there are plenty of options for viewing this year with the introduction of After Dark on Showtime Too (ShoToo) and the always popular online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial). If those don’t interest you then you can always stick to the basics, just be sure to clear your Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights for the rest of the summer. It’s a good thing my wife loves this show too or I’d be in trouble!

Woohoo! I’m looking forward to it.
Just a comment about the house design….every interior design rule had to have been broken in designing that house. All the colors were well chosen to make people feel uneasy and riled up. Should be very interesting!

That’s an interesting point about the colors. I couldn’t imagine feeling comfortable in there. Not just the colors either. The furniture looks too fancy, the couches especially.
