Big Brother 8

Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now.

Last night BB8 started out with a bang, well nearly. We watched as 14 house guests went through the usual, awkward first few hours in the house as they sized one another up for potential alliances and showmances. The alliances are of course the most important for them, but the showmances will keep us entertained. This early on in the game it’s still difficult to really gauge our new house guests, but what the heck, I always like a challenge. Here is part 1 of my first impressions of the new season of Big Brother:

Amber: Her initial sidebar where she discussed the “sparks” between her and Nick was pretty funny as I don’t think Nick noticed this fire taking place. He was a little more distracted by the nanny. This makes me think she’s going to be a confident, perhaps falsely, player this season. Potential for BB8 Drama: 3 out of 5.

Carol: Ah, sweet, innocent Carol. She may be a senior this fall in college, but this little lady seems to have plenty left to learn. She should easily take the role of The Conservative and reminds me of Michelle from season 4, just like I expected. This passive approach to the game isn’t likely to bring much action though. Potential for BB8 Drama: 2 out of 5.

Daniele: She was already referred to as “the ghost of Anna Nicole Smith” and I’d agree, but just in Smith’s creepy, overly thin stage. Hopefully she won’t get stuck on slop too many weeks or she’ll be in trouble. Daniele does win the “first tears of the season” award though as the arrival of her father, Dick, sent her into a mini-spiral already. If you were watching this show on TNT now would be when you’d hear the L&O’s “dun dun” sound. Potential for BB8 Drama: 4 out of 5.

Dick: or “Evil Dick” as he prefers should have no problem keeping the house in motion this summer. This will be the first time “The Older Guy” won’t also be the “boring guy”. Drama will likely follow this guy everywhere without relent as he already receives the inaugural “made someone cry” award. Potential for BB8 Drama: 5 out of 5.

Dustin: This was an easy prediction, but Dustin is part 1 of our “The Homosexual” duo this season. We’ve already heard him screaming that his ex, Joe, is ruining his life in this game. Well, that and the whole gonorrhea accusation thrown at him by Joe. Dustin appears to be the more respectable one though as he still tried to shake hands with his accuser. Potential for BB8 Drama: 4 out of 5.

Eric: America’s Player right here. Eric comes across as a reserved, intelligent guy, which he’ll need every bit of if he wants to survive the puppet strings of America. Considering this added pressure I don’t expect Eric to go starting any fires on his own as I imagine we’ll be doing enough of that for him. Muahahaha! Potential for BB8 Drama: 3 out of 5.

Jameka: Oh yes, our token “The African American” BB player. Jameka has already confessed that she’s not used to being around all these white people (her words, not mine). Hmm, what’s her job? Oh good, she’s a school counselor and apparently a model of tolerance. Hopefully she’ll set a good example for her students, but let’s not count on it. If Jameka feels cornered or abandoned I’d expect her to strike, and strike hard. Potential for BB8 Drama: 4 out of 5.

Part 2: Jen, Jessica, Joe, Kail, Mike, Nick, and Zach will come into the Wild Bluff Media cross hairs very soon. Stay tuned for the second half.
