Foreword: Big Brother Season 8 is now in full swing and to avoid missing any current details you’ll want to check out the online, uncensored live feeds (14 day free trial) and see what is going on right now.
Spoiler Free Zone ahead: We may know what’s going on with the live feeds, but for now we’ll keep this from ruining any broadcast surprises.
Hot into the first full week of Big Brother 8 it’s now time for the first Power of Veto competition and results show. Tonight on Big Brother we’ll see if Amber or Carol, who both were nominated for eviction on Sunday by Kail, can win the Power of Veto. If they do they’ll be able to use it and take themselves off the chopping block. If not they’ll still have the chance to talk their way down from the danger zone. This is no doubt a difficult task for both of these ladies as the competition is in full force and the stakes are each at their personal high.
I think both Amber and Carol are in a real tough place here as it is likely too early to have any alliance strong enough that someone is willing to throw the PoV competition, much less use it to save someone else. And not to be sexist, but if this is a physical challenge tonight those two girls will be hard pressed to overcome the strength of guys like Nick, Zach, or Mike. Who knows if they’ll even be forced to go against those three guys though. If the PoV participant selection process is anything like last year we’re nearly guaranteed to see one of those guys as Kail is sure to pick one of them as her partner (read more on Kail’s “Mrs. Robinson” alliance).

Should neither girl win I don’t expect to see it used. No one ever wants to use the power of veto in this game and that’s disappointing. At this point in the game you’d only make enemies with Kail and her gang, so I wouldn’t blame the PoV holder. I just hope that further down the road we’ll get players that are willing to rock the boat a little harder. So if neither girl wins and no one is willing to go against Kail I think we’ll see Carol heading out the door come Thursday. I’d certainly rather not have to see Amber’s puffy, red, crying face in another diary room session, but I suspect that her personality is more out going and therefore more likely to talk her way off the block. Carol, on the other hand, comes across as too passive and will likely put up little fight as she heads toward eviction. The calm and quiet players have little history in Big Brother and for good reason. You’re here to win a half million dollars! Time to see you act like it.
