Weigh anchor! Batten down the hatches! Hoist the mains’l! Its time to set sail again on the Picton Castle with the Pirate Master crew. After its move to Tuesday, the producers felt they needed to spend the first 10 minutes of the show doing a recap the entire season up to this episode. Captain Azmyth and the officers gave Joe Don and Louie tons of work to wear them out since they would both be on the red team. Nessa really has it in for Azmyth. She’s had it with him. Calling him a control freak but, that’s probably what she would say about who ever is captain.

The Zanzibar Chest

Black Crew: Azmyth, Jay, Ben, Laurel, and Jupiter
Red Crew: Louie, Joe Don, Nessa, Christa, and Kendra

The crews first had to row to the western end of the island and find a barrel moored in the bay. ONe of the crew then had to dive down retrieve the clue in a bottle underwater. When the crews left the ship the black crew did not have Laurel rowing, no surprise. The black crew reached the barrel first and Ben retrieved bottle. The red crew was right behind them and JD managed grabbed bottle quickly.

The crews then had to head to Skull point where 2 cannon awaited them. The red team was dragging after their lack of food, extra work, and lack of sleep. The black crew passed them and reached Skull Point first. The crews then had to find the hidden ropes and haul up the barrels containing their next clue. The red team caught up and found their rope as well. Then it was a race to see who could pull up the barrel first. JD and Louie lots of practice pulling on ropes recently so they made up alot of the time difference between the crews. The black team still managed to pull their barrel up first. They then made the mistake of setting off before reading the clue. The red team read their clue and was then able to use the cannons and view from the point to solve the riddle and find the X marking the location of the keys.

The black team saw them running past and so just followed them to it. Both teams raced to dig up the keys. Both teams found their keys (which were dials for a combination) and then it was a foot race to find the treasure and unlock the combination. The black team won again! but was that ever close. This was a really hard loss for the red team. JD, Louie, and Kendra all really wanted/needed that win.

The Booty:

This week’s treasure was worth $35,000. That works out as $17,500 for the captain, $8,750 for each officer, and $4,375 for each Laurel and Jupiter. Azmyth, Jay, and Ben decided to give Laurel an extra $1,600 and Jupiter an extra $2,100 since she cooks for them. A nice haul all around I would say! After dividing up the treasure, Kendra went to talk to Jay. She promised her loyalty and her vote for whoever he chose in return for not being nominated. Jay believed it and so she was spared.

Black Spots:
1. Joe Don
2. Louie
3. Nessa

Joe Don was the target. Louie was just a pawn, he was popular and they didn’t think he would be voted out. Nessa was likely to buy the pardon so even though they put her up, no one thought she would go. The crew started plotting a mutiny but they didn’t have a chance. Jupiter was loyal to the tried as was Kendra.

The Pirates Court:
Joe Don didn’t pull any punches in defending himself. He called out Kendra on helping her on the swim ashore. He felt he saved her and she needed to save him. Everyone acknowledged that Joe Don was their only chance to ever beat the Azmyth’s black team. It didn’t save him though. Nessa bought the royal pardon for $5,000. There were no ballots for mutiny, so Azmyth was safe. Joe Don received 3 votes and Louie received 1. Joe Don was cast adrift. The question now is who voted for Louie? Nessa was obviously broken up about losing Joe Don as they were more than just allies.

Joe Don’s voyage has ended as she has been cut adrift.

Next Week:
The crew is presented by the ghosts of their past. Not really sure what that means though. The crew considers mutiny. Could this be it for Azmyth? Even Jay said he would mutiny given the chance.
