The Smashing Pumpkins are returning, well mostly. The “reunion” of the band will really only involve the lead singer, Billy Corgan, and drummer, Jimmy Chamberlin. The other roles were filled in by substitutes at their recent Live Earth performance. A new Smashing Pumpkins album, Zeitgeist, was just released last week.
You might be thinking, “but didn’t Billy Corgan already try having a band called Zwan with him, Jimmy Chamberlin, and a couple of subs?” Why yes, you are correct. But you see, no one was buying Zwan albums like they were buying Smashing Pumpkin albums back in the day. Then again, no one is buy those great big clocks that swing around your chest like a necklace anymore either. Coincidence? Doubtful.

Great, glad to see he’s doing well. I always enjoyed Smashing Pumpkins, but he lost me w/ Zwan. Coming back seems to have renewed his crowd. But that was my point.
