Chuck and Larry pulled their own magic act this weekend and overwhelmed Harry Potter to take the number one spot at the box office with a not too shabby earning of $34.7 million. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix managed to hold onto second with $32.1 million while beating out the other newcomer this weekend, Hairspray. An initial article I read completely skipped over Hairspray in its list leading me to believe it pulled a Captivity act like last weekend and entirely miss the top 10. The rest of the movies fell in line with last weekend’s rankings. I enjoyed Sandler and James’ “Chuck and Larry” comedy this weekend which seems to be polarized by a lot of the other reviews out there. My review for that will be up in the morning. As far as “Hairspray”, I’ve gotta admit that I’m surprised it made as much as it did. If you saw any of the movies this weekend, let us know what you thought in the Comments section below.
