Here are your new releases on DVD for Tuesday, July 24, 2007:
Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr.
Director: David Fincher
Genre: Crime / Drama / Thriller
Rated: Rated R for some strong killings, language, drug material and brief sexual images.
Duration: 2hrs 38mins
Plot: Based on the Robert Graysmith books about the real life notorious Zodiac, a serial killer who terrorized San Francisco with a string of seemingly random murders during the 1960s and 1970s.
Notes: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie in the theaters and would definitely sit through its lengthy run due to the high quality of the cast, story, and director. Read my Zodiac movie review.

The Number 23
Starring: Jim Carrey, Virginia Madsen, Danny Huston
Director: Joel Schumacher
Genre: Drama / Mystery / Thriller
Rated: Rated R for violence, disturbing images, sexuality and language.
Duration: 1hr 35mins
Plot: Carrey becomes obsessed with a novel that he believes was written about him. As his obsession increases, more and more similarities seem to arise.
Notes: It was entertaining to watch Carrey in a non-funny role and he actually did very well with his dark side. The story was interesting, but I’ve seen it done better in other stories. If you like dark, semi-mysteries this is still worth a watch. Read my The Number 23 movie review.
