Weekend Movie Preview logo

Now here’s a full movie weekend for us with lots of options. The Simpsons is going to be the big draw of the weekend and is likely to make a good bit of money. If cartoons aren’t your thing there’s the more mature themed movie, No Reservations with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart. There’s also a non-cartoon comedy Who’s Your Caddy starring Outkast’s Big Boi. If coke’d out drunk drivers are more your thing then there’s another movie starring a once promising young actress that seems intent on killing someone else before herself. My weekend movie plans include seeing The Simpsons as well as catching last weekend’s limited release Sunshine that will be going wide release this weekend.

Here are all your movie details & trailers for this weekend, July 27 - 29, 2007.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons Movie
Starring: Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria
Director: David Silverman
Genre: Animation / Comedy
Duration: 1hr 25mins
Rated: PG-13 for irreverent humor throughout.
Plot: When Homer pollutes the lake with toxic waste Springfield comes under fire from the EPA, possibly even leading to its complete destruction. D’oh.
My Take: While I doubt we’ll see anything new consider The Simpsons’ 18 year run on TV I’m still really looking forward to seeing this one this weekend.
The Simpsons Movie Trailer:

No Reservations

No Reservations
Starring: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart, Abigail Breslin
Director: Scott Hicks
Genre: Comedy and Remake
Rated: PG for some sensuality and language.
Plot: A top notch female chef’s life is turned upside-down when she must care of her niece after her sister is killed. She now has to adapt to a different lifestyle and uses food as a means to express her roller-coaster life.
My Take: While I’m not too interested in this movie I was impressed to see that it’s rated PG. Clearly it’s not a kids’ movie but they still didn’t take that as a license to fill it with adult language or sex. If I hear good things I might just add it to my Netflix queue.

I Know Who Killed Me

I Know Who Killed Me
Starring: Lindsay Lohan, Julia Ormond, Neal McDonough
Director: Chris Sivertson
Genre: Crappy Thriller
Rated: R for grisly violence including torture and disturbing gory images, and for sexuality, nudity and language
Plot: An idyllic small town is rocked when Aubrey Fleming, a bright and promising young woman, is abducted and tortured by a sadistic serial killer. When she manages to escape, the traumatized girl who regains consciousness in the hospital insists that she is not who they think she is and that the real Aubrey Fleming is still in mortal danger.
My Take: I know who killed her career.

Who’s Your Caddy

Who’s Your Caddy
Starring: Antwan ‘Big Boi’ Patton, James L. Avery, Bruce Bruce
Director: Don Michael Paul
Genre: Comedy and Sports
Rated: PG-13 for crude and sexual content, some nudity, language and drug material.
Plot: A famous rapper (Big Boi) and his entourage face off against the president of a posh country club who is reluctant to admit the star as a member.
My Take: I totally missed this one coming out. I hope for Big Boi’s sake that it isn’t a total bomb.
