Big Brother 8: Top 5 Houseguests So Far

Even as we enter week 4 of Big Brother 8 I’m starting to get anxious to see the new alliances form and dominate the house. By now we should start to see the Alpha personalities as well as the more passive. While it’s still difficult to see these lines clearly yet I thought it’d be fun to take a look at who could be the Top 5 Houseguests this season. This list is in no particular order, just the Top 5 grouped.

Dick: Kail was right to try and get him out the other week. Although Dick pissed most of the house off during his stint as HoH I think we’re seeing the old calmer Dick return to the house this week. Dick’s approach to call out alliances and secret conversations , well ones he’s not in, has proven to be a pretty strong tactic. This is forcing more people to operate in the open and reducing their chances of a sneak attack. Though I don’t think Dick can win this overall I suspect he’ll easily glide into the sequester house so settle in for a summer of Dick.

Daniele: Now this is one lucky girl. She has 2 strong lines of defense protecting her from danger this season. First up is daddy dearest, Dick, who I believe would gladly take a bullet for his daughter. He might not be the finest father, but given an obvious choice I think he’d trade his spot for her. Though considering the way Dick plays I don’t think anyone would be dumb enough to go after her while he’s still in the house. Daniele’s second barrier is creepy Nick. He’s already professed his undying love for her and though he might not lay down his BB8 life for her’s I believe he’d definitely fight on her behalf in PoV’s and campaigning. I don’t think Daniele has much of a game strategy here, but neither did Lisa and she won BB3 by laying low the whole time, so it could happen.

Dustin: Once Joe left I think that open a lot of doors for Dustin. His current reign as HoH has been pretty mild like most of his game play. Dustin has the smarts to develop tight friendships (Amber) and pretty decent alliances (LNC). I don’t believe he could stand up well in tough endurance competitions, but he might get lucky and not even face one of those in a difficult, must-win position. If Dustin keeps on with his current game plan and doesn’t ruffle too many feathers I think this guy has a decent shot at it.

Jameka: Name one person in the house that has expressed dislike for Jameka. I can’t do it and I think that’s exactly what makes her a strong player in this game. She has teamed up with a few individuals but doesn’t have any outward alliances, providing her greater flexibility. I’d like to see more of Jameka stepping up and winning things a little more. She might not want the attention that HoH brings just yet, but if she can pull her own weight people may want to keep her around to help fight.

Eric: Now this is one smart guy. Each week he’s been doing exactly what we ask of him and not once has it drawn any attention to him. When he sits down and details his rationale people listen to him and respect what he says, especially Dick and that’s a strong ally to have. I think Eric may be one of the smartest people in the house but his advantage is that he can translate that into being one of the smartest players as well. Kail is a smart woman, but she played her cards all wrong and look where it got her. Eric on the other hand is moving cautiously and forming good trust and rapport without becoming weighed down to just one person. I would love to see Eric win this whole thing and as long as these America’s Player challenges don’t ruin it I think he’s got a real chance of taking home the big prize.
