This batch of Big Brother contestants has proven to be one cut throat bunch despite them mostly remaining calm on the surface (mostly because Dick doesn’t know calm). Perhaps it’s not so much cut throat as it is just wishy-washy in their decision process. For the third week in a row we just saw the PoV actually get used by Jameka. That was the first time though this season where it wasn’t to save the winner’s own neck though. It seems to rarely see the light of day in past seasons as most of those not on the block don’t want to rock the boat.
Now that we have a replacement for Jen with Nick’s nomination we’re seeing the house starting to shift from the original plan to the replacement nom. This of course has worked out great for Kail, once again, but this sort of “backdoor” treatment has often been reserved for the most hated of houseguests. Nakomis’ legendary six fingered plan has been so mangled and overused by this gang because they don’t even seem to mean to do it. In week 2 Jen seemed so desperate to break up Nick and Daniele but also really wanted to say goodbye to Dick. Somehow that all changed after Joe smartmouthed his way right onto the chopping block. That was an emotional change of heart for Jen and while I’m thrilled to be rid of Joe I don’t think it was the best move.
Jumping ahead into week 3 we saw madly insane Dick rant and rave over how badly he wanted Jen out of the house, then it was Kail, and then it was Mike. So after his initial “must have evicted” nominations of Jen and Kail he got all emotional during the PoV competition and ended up chasing Mike right out the door. Not to be out is the new HoH for this week, Dustin, who closed Sunday’s show with his statement of how he must have Kail evicted this week. Thankfully at this point the decision to pursue another houseguest for eviction seems to have finally taken on the discussion of “what’s our best strategy move” rather than “Ahh! I hate him/her and want him/her out of here! Ahhh!” While Jen may be obnoxious Kail is rather crafty and has actually won more than her competition at this point, Nick. Nick hasn’t actually won anything or really contributed to much other than complicating Daniele’s love life. Maybe Nick thinks he’s on The Bachelor or Age of Love instead of Big Brother. Either way, I think Nick is in serious danger of becoming the third straight victim of backdoor action (working so hard to resist jokes on how Joe probably didn’t mind it!).
What do you think? Will Nick be heading home or is he safe this week? Should the LNC have made a different decision in their replacement nom? Share your opinions below.

Big Brother 8: Week 5 HoH & Nomination Preview - August 5, 2007 | Wild Bluff Media : Entertainment Examined
August 5th, 2007 at 10:28 am[...] For those who want to wait and see who won HoH on Thursday after Nick left then divert your eyes! Spoiler discussion: It came as no big surprise to me to see the 65 pound girl win the “hang on” game. I would have been terrible at that game, but only because my massive brain would have worked against me with gravity and pulled me down faster. Hmm, Jenius Jen should have won that then. So what worries me now is that we watched Daniele and Dick discuss the idea of backdooring Eric on the live feeds. That conversation really consisted of Daniele saying, “let’s backdoor Eric,” to which she added, “but I didn’t say that.” Dammit. I’m going to be really disappointed if we lose America’s Player this soon. Hopefully Eric can keep himself safe and away from the backdoor danger which could possibly make it’s fourth straight appearance. [...]
