Tonight on the National Geographic Channel (NGC) the new series Taboo premieres. I took a preview look at a couple of clips and this stuff is raw! The first episode today will focus on “Initiation Rituals”:

Delve into the rituals that mark the passage from one phase of life to another—where pain is the price of acceptance and failure means a loss of pride and sometimes even a loss of life. Meet members of an urban subculture who hang suspended from the ceiling, teenage boys who offer their hands to stinging bullet ants, and boys who endure swallowing about 24 inches of raw cane down their throat.

To get an idea of some of the things people go through you can play the game below. I like how it gives the percentages of people that agreed or disagreed with each choice you make. Some of them really surprised me, like how most people would prefer being blinded in lieu of making out with Rosie O’Donnell. Weird, right?
