Wow. A lot has changed in the BB8 house in just a day since I wrote why I thought Eric was definitely safe this week. Let me tell you what, that man Dick can work a room like a pro. Let me catch you up quickly with a little back story first. Be forewarned, a lot of this is hearsay and repeated from information gleaned from multiple locations throughout the season and as with all things Big Brother some may be rumors and some may be truth:

Early on in the BB8 season Amber (everyone’s favorite BB8 racist) made a confession to Eric, which not so surprisingly didn’t make it on to the broadcast show. Amber divulged that in her past she had several abortions, and while I’m not here to judge or start a debate on that aspect what else she mentioned was what made for the hot topic. Allegedly, of course, Amber told Eric that she also made up a few stories about additional abortions pregnancies (see update below) to emotionally influence her boyfriend at the time. During Amber’s rants last night (post BB8 apocalypse) she made the comment that those stories may have been used to keep her boyfriend from leaving her. Now where this turns South for Eric is that apparently he mentioned this situation to Dick and may or may not have said he was planning to hold that info to use against her down the BB8 road. Update: The broadcast show replayed this scene and she told him she lied about pregnancies to her boyfriend, not abortions.

So what do you think Dick did? Yes, of course. He immediately turned around that put that in his back pocket to use against Eric. Well the time came to cash in that card as he and Daniele were desperate to secure the votes when they saw they didn’t have them. So Dick went to Amber and used it against Eric. Oh the irony of what he was doing seemed to be completely lost on Amber as she went ballistic, and likely rightfully so. The piles of brown hit the fan and sprayed everywhere through the BB8 house. Eric’s chances of survival this week went straight through the floor. Everyone turned on him and I mean everyone. Suddenly what was looking to be 4-3 or better had become 7-0 against Eric. Wow, that was quick.

But as I cautioned to the readers on yesterday’s post, what a difference a day makes when it comes to Big Brother. Things eventually calmed down in the house last night and reality returned, somewhat. Realizing that if they voted out Eric the remaining LNC’ers would be in peril against D&D teamed with Jen, Kail, and Zach. So Dustin did the smart thing and talked Amber down from her furious perch. From there they went and talked to Jameka, who accepted, and eventually even talked Jessica back into their fold. Wow, what a crazy past few days in the house. I’m glad I’ve been watching the live and uncensored Big Brother 8 video feeds to get all this craziness considering the broadcast shows seem to sometimes be reporting on an entirely different show.

Considering how much things went from one end of the spectrum to the other in just 24 hours it’s impossible to be sure whether Eric is safe. All the same I think I’m still going to back him over Kail for safety this week. If Dick and Daniele realize their votes have shifted away again I’ll be very interested to see what other tricks they try and play. Should make for some fun Big Brother drama!
