Last night on Big Brother 8 we saw Kail’s eviction finally arrive after weeks of nominations and changed minds by everyone involved. Looking back over Kail’s stay in the BB8 house to figure out where she went wrong it’d nearly be easier to ask “where did Kail go right?” and come up with a shorter list. For someone that had tried for years and years to get on the show I had expected a little more out of Kail. But I think it was that anxiousness that wiped out her potential and instead sent her home in Week 5.
While most house guests in the past have worked to form alliances early on in the game I can’t remember anyone who worked so hard so fast to form a secret alliance on the very first day. There have of course been times like with the Ex-Factor that all the “original” house guests swore to unite against the second wave of guests, but we won’t count that. Kail came into the house knowing that strong alliances can be your best angle in this game and I think she was right to try for this, but I think she rushed this decision. On the first day you can’t be sure who is your best choice for alignment. You don’t know how game-smart they are or how loyal they could be at this stage. Instead Kail based her decisions on book covers and I can’t say I’d question her choices upfront as I had viewed those same guys as having strong potential. Clearly though, Mrs. Robinson and her alliance didn’t pan out the way any of them had envisioned as it’s down to just Zach at this point! Who would have guessed?
So having rushed into forming an alliance amongst people that apparently felt no real draw to her, well except Mike who ruined his game just to prove he could be loyal (dummy), only produced more harm than good. Kail’s attempt to implement strategy amongst her group and wisely target Dick early on broke down as her alliance members began to reveal too much information to others. With warning of the attack Dick was able to strike back, save his own butt, and from there it was all down hill for Kail as she faced an onslaught of emotional attacks that threw her from her game and were too difficult from which to recover. While Dick’s attacks, both direct and indirect, would have been near impossible to take I was really sorry to see Kail just give up. I’d say Kail gave up because of her drastic shift in attitude after week 2. Instead of calling the shots Kail turned to begging for an extra week of safety with offerings of pawnship and giving away her chances at HoH for PoV. Even if she had won that PoV she would have been a lame duck for 5 more weeks. So what’s the point? Big Brother 10
So Kail’s Big Brother Sins were rushing to judgment, playing too hard too soon, and lastly giving up. You had so much potential Kail and were the strongest “Older Gal” house guest I can remember in BB history. Sorry it didn’t work out better for you.
