After a full season of the new reality show Age of Love many of us were anxious to see who Mark Philippoussis selected in the season finale last week. While I’ll admit I was hoping for Mark to pick Jennifer I still wasn’t very surprised to see Amanda win the prize. The couple was reunited in Las Vegas last week to watch the finale as most of the ladies returned for the action. So for all those curious on the couple’s current status it sounds like this was the first time they were allowed to see each other. Mark is reported to have kept in contact with Amanda during the hiatus through text messages. Very romantic. Observers at the viewing party noted there weren’t a lot of sparks flying between the pair, but I’d have to imagine it’d be a little awkward in front of that many people considering it had been months since seeing each other last.
In case you don’t care what others thought of the situation you can see what Mark wrote on his blog:
From the beginning I felt a connection with her and it grew as we got to know each other. I can’t say what is going to happen after all this, but I am excited to see where this journey with Amanda will take us.
That sounds pretty safe of him. I’ve gotta say that this is at least why I preferred Age of Love over The Bachelor. The commitment on this show was so much more realistic with a promise for the couple to try continuing to date rather than get married.
So do you think we’ll see another season of the show? I think it’s possible, but I haven’t heard any rumors regarding another season. If you want to see that happen voice up in the comments below and let NBC hear your support.
Update: Thanks to Feed Reader Mindy for putting my head back in the game and catching my slip between “Amanda” and “Amber“. Oops! I’ve been watching too much Big Brother!
Update (9/27): Jayanna is reporting in an interview that she believes Mark and Amanda are “on rocky ground” and that Amanda was flying out to CA to meet with another guy. Uh oh!
Check out the rest of our Age of Love coverage.

I would like to see another episode.
I lol’ed at the very romantic text messaging comment.
What’s next? E-mails?

They just wanna take things slowly. So yeah, emails next, then Hallmark e-cards, then maybe a webchat. They’re not sure, don’t want to rush anything.
Plus, I’d guess Amanda already installed a GPS tracker in him as she seems just a touch jealous and paranoid.

I don’t really like it that Mark chose Amanda, all because she showed too much sham of him being with other women. He could be gone only five minutes and she startes getting mad.

I would like to see another season of the show but this time let’s reverse the tables. Why not bring back Jen in the new show and have two age groups of men competing for her attention and feelings???
I bet that would go over really well….

That is an awesome idea. I’m hoping they create another season as well and this could be the perfect little shake-up to keep it new and interesting.
I hope NBC is out there reading and listening to viewers!

I think Amanda was the only one who stood up for her feelings for Mark, and gave him a response to chew on which showed her self-respect. No wonder he chose her - she required him to focus on someone else’s situation, rather than just sit back and enjoy the attention he was getting. It was a good start for a continuing mutually respectful relationship.

I would definitely like to see another season of age of love. I can’t say I was shocked when he chose Amanda. A little disappointed but he wants to have children of his own and if you go with the one who is younger and wanting to start something new then she was the better decision. At the end of the day its Mark’s life to live and no one else’s.
